After 17 years in the hair industry, I took a leap of faith to pursue a lifelong dream—opening my own salon. Partnering with my best friend of over 20 years made the experience even more meaningful, turning a shared vision into reality.

Our salon was founded with a mission to provide a boutique-style experience—where clients receive custom, high-quality services in a peaceful and welcoming environment. Beyond serving our clients, we are deeply committed to supporting others in the beauty industry. We offer competitive booth rental opportunities to fellow salon professionals, helping them launch and grow their careers in a beautiful, supportive space designed for success.

Giving back to our community is also at the heart of what we do. We’ve hosted several charity events and continue to prioritize meaningful relationships with the people we serve. Now in our second year of business in Westlake, Ohio, we are honored to see our salon gaining recognition across Northeast Ohio. We are truly grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s to come.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges we faced was transforming a traditional office space into a fully functional, boutique-style salon. The space required a complete overhaul—from installing proper plumbing and electrical systems to designing an open, welcoming layout that reflected the experience we wanted to offer our clients. Navigating city permits, building codes, and construction timelines as first-time salon owners was a steep learning curve, but we remained hands-on and solution-focused every step of the way.

The renovation pushed us outside our comfort zone and tested our patience, but it also strengthened our commitment to bringing our vision to life. We took great care in every detail—from selecting calming colors and quality furnishings to creating a peaceful, spa-like environment where both clients and professionals could thrive. Since opening, we’ve received an incredibly positive response from our community, and it’s been rewarding to see the space become exactly what we imagined—a place of beauty, connection, and opportunity.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At our salon, we specialize in customized color services, precision cuts, styling, and holistic nail care. We are passionate about providing high-quality, personalized beauty services in a calm and welcoming environment.

One of the most meaningful aspects of our work is supporting individuals who are undergoing or recovering from cancer treatments. Caring for their hair during and after chemotherapy is a mission that’s close to our hearts. We offer compassionate, tailored solutions to help them feel confident and supported throughout their journey—whether it’s selecting a wig, managing hair regrowth, or learning new ways to care for and style their hair as it returns. It’s an honor to walk alongside them during such a vulnerable time and to be part of their healing process through beauty and self-care.

We also believe in giving back to the community that has embraced us. One of our most cherished fundraisers was fulfilling the Christmas wish lists of 50 local foster children. Coming together with our clients and community to make the holidays brighter for these children was incredibly meaningful, and it reflects the heart of who we are—both as a business and as individuals.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck played a beautiful role in how our salon came to life. At a casual gathering, my best friend—and now business partner—Mandy turned to me and said, “It’s time. You need to open your own salon.” That moment of encouragement sparked something in me. Incredibly, within a week, we found the perfect space to bring our vision to life.

While that timing felt serendipitous, I also recognize how fortunate I’ve been to spend 17 years working alongside some of the most talented and respected stylists in the Cleveland area. Their mentorship, along with the experience I gained throughout my career, prepared me to take this leap with confidence.

Mandy brought not only unwavering support but also her professional expertise in business operations. She now oversees our marketing, contracting, legal matters, and provides critical business guidance and financial oversight. Her skill set has been essential to the stability and growth of our salon, allowing me to focus on delivering exceptional service and leading our creative team.

Together, our complementary strengths have allowed us to build something we’re both incredibly proud of. Luck may have opened the door, but it was our partnership, shared vision, and years of hard work that made this dream a reality.
