Meet Janelle Ball of Authorized Health LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janelle Ball.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first experience in dermatology was working the front desk, I enjoyed welcoming patients and getting a birds eye view of how the entire office flows. I moved into different roles over the years, back office, Derm tech, assisting in surgeries. Then I landed as the Biologic coordinator. I had no idea that this role would prepare me for where I am today. Patient Access became a passion of mine. As I learned more about helping patients with chronic conditions, I became a consultant and speaker for multiple pharmaceutical companies. That transpired into consulting for other dermatology offices across the country. I knew I wanted to do more, so I created a company called BC Educators in 2020. It has grown so much over the last couple of years, with now 15 employees and growing! We have Newsletters, webinars, educational training programs and an app specifically to connect Biologic coordinators across the US!
With an entrepreneur mindset, I am always coming up with ideas. In 2023 I started a podcast called That’s Derm Good! This podcast was created because of my passion for access, advocacy and bringing conversations about dermatology to a wider community. The future of dermatology is here and I have been working on new projects that will launch in 2026!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road. The Biologic Coordinator role is very difficult. This role works with the insurance company to get the prior authorizations approved for specialty medications for chronic conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, Alopecia, etc. we act as the liaison between the Doctors office, patient, and insurance company. So a lot of education goes into all sides to ensure a smooth process for patients to get these important medications. Still over 70% of Dermatologists are frustrated with the prior authorization process. Patients are delayed in getting essential medications they need. So there are still barriers we face everyday. The other struggles are high turnover on medical offices can also lead to lack of knowledge in how to help get patients medication.
My goal is to help the office streamline the process and make it a lot easier for patients to get the right treatment. Unfortunately the insurance companies still create challenges.

As you know, we’re big fans of Authorized Health LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Authorized Health is a parent company to BC Educators LLC, Janelle Ball Consulting LLC, That’s Derm Good! Podcast and other programs such as The Access Line, and others coming in 2026.
My company specializes in patient access, medical offices education, and training. BC Educators offers a unique support experience for offices and patients. What sets us apart is that we not only focus on supporting patients, but we support the office through training and resources, and we also support the Biologic coordinator through community, education, empowerment and advancement in their role.
I am so grateful for the growth of this brand and how we are able to stay consistent in our values and innovative in patient care.
We are expanding outside of dermatology so that we can reach more offices, and patients. Our goal is to support access to specialty medications that people need. Getting rid of the headaches and hiccups that cause delays so that you can get back to the things you love most!

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I love empowering patients and healthcare professionals. The more we stay engaged and connected through conversations and community we can do great things together!
