Today we’d like to introduce you to Glenn Crawford.
Hi Glenn, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started flying in 1977 in Lakeland, Florida. I soloed when I was 16 and received my private pilot license at 17, and received my ratings over the next few years, including my Certified Flight Instructor, and also obtained A&P in 1984. My aviation career included flying Charters, flight instructing, and flying corporate aircraft; I flew corporate for about 5 years and then transitioned to the airlines; I’ve been flying for the airlines for the last 37 years. During my whole career, I always dreamed of owning an FBO and a flight school to help others pursue their aviation dreams. In 2019 I purchased Aviation Sales Inc., which had a large flight training facility, and with the leadership of the flight school and our leaderships background, I think we have developed one of the most well-disciplined and well-rounded flight schools in the Midwest.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As with all professional journeys, it’s not always smooth; as your progress further down your career path, things tend to become smoother typically, but as you advance down that path your responsibilities grow greater, and it comes with a new set of struggles. Most of our main struggles in this business have been attributed to the typical challenges and growing pains associated with running a business. We have overcame them with the help of a hardworking and dedicated employees.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a full-service Fixed Base Operator and flight school out of Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Miamisburg, Ohio. We are known for providing excellent service to customers, excellent maintenance services to aircraft, and excellent training to flight students to help them advance their careers in aviation. I am most proud of my dedicated staff of employees and the amount of work they put into our customer’s satisfaction every single day. What really sets us apart is our dedication to ensuring that our customers leave every day feeling satisfied with whatever services we provided for them.
What’s next?
We currently have a partnership with Wright State University to provide their flight training for them and are looking to advance this partnership in the near future to better provide for all of our students.
