Kourtney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I had been diagnosed with sever anxiety and panic disorder, ocd, when I was 21. This is when I turned to fitness mainly running. It was my outlite and what really started my journey into the health and wellness field.
It all started in my back yard. When we moved back to Ashtabula from San Diego CA; this is where my husband was stationed during his time in the marine Corp. it was here that I discovered my love for weight lifting.
We moved back home in 2019 because we were soon to have a little girl. After her birth that summer I decided to start taking personal clients at my home. Working out in my back yard. I started by offering my services for free. I searched for 3 people who were looking to have a transformation happen. I gave each one 3 month of my time to wipe them into shape mentally and physically.
After 3 months there transformations were amazing and showcasing there success on social media it caught a lot of attention and I started gaining more clients.
This was also the year Covid was starting to hit us hard. So as business were closing I was concerned about my clients success and continued growth so I decided to open a brick and mortar to be able to offer group session come winter.
From there we took off. We have moved 2 times since. So we are at our 3rd location which is 10,0000 sq ft.
We have added a 24/7 gym on top of our group fitness classes. We offer our FHIIT 45 classes which are our original class that focuses on strength training.
We have bar and Pilates and cycle classes now as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and no.
We’ve moved to larger facilities over the last 5 years as we grew. The moves were hard, not easy moving all the equipment, revamping larger space, all while still trying to stay open.
But without challenge we do not change. We must become uncomfortable to grow.
And this indeed we have done
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
First and foremost come as you are!
Stay consistent even when motivation fades — discipline builds success.
	•	Invest in your people — your clients, your team, your community. They’ll become your biggest supporters.
	•	Don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter twenty.
	•	And most importantly, lead with heart. When your mission is to help others, everything else — the growth, the results, the recognition — follows naturally.
