Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenston Henderson.
Hi Kenston, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Quick story: My parents were both teachers in school and in the church, which significantly influenced me as I was surrounded by a lot of inspiration and motivation. Which led me to want to become an educator but for adults. (I heard too many crazy stories from my dad regarding the kids in high school, lol.) So, I studied at The Ohio State University for Technical Education and Training, aka Corporate Training & Development. After college and for the first 13 years of my career, although I was in HR, I still needed to be in a training development position. But I was fortunate enough to take on volunteer opportunities through my various roles and networking that paved the way for me to start my own business in 2016. Of course, there’s a lot of in-between because, in the midst of where I am today, I landed my dream job in 2018. Talk about a curve ball, but in 2020, I felt a strong desire to focus on my business. So, in December of 2022, I resigned to pursue my dream of taking Live With Lyfe full-time, and I absolutely love it. I now get to impact local businesses right here in Central Ohio and travel worldwide to equip leaders and teams.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a reasonably smooth road?
The road has been improving as I face each entrepreneurship invisible FEAR. The invisible fears are fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of making sales calls, and fear of taking on daunting tasks such as filling out bids, RFP requests, and certification applications. With each new challenge, I take on a new mindset of FEAR. Which means FACE Everything And Rise. This mindset allows me to start and continue to move forward when one of those invisible fears starts to arise.
