Check Out Tiffany Wedekind’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Wedekind.

Hi Tiffany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started my artistic business journey in early 2003 with the creation of my candle company, Recycled Karma. Upcycling bottles into candles and clothing into wearable art.

Over time and with the support of my community, my small business has grown into an all-local boutique & art gallery. Wanderlust Studio, located in Merion Village, Ohio, is where I sell my candles, clothing & art as well as featuring many other local creators.

I also produce a podcast where I feature local business owners & creators, host gallery events, yoga classes, live music, a summer market & much more!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a ride that’s for sure. There are so many different challenges that go into owning and operating a small business.

Time, money, resources, life… and for me, on top of fighting daily for my business, I am also fighting for my life. Not only am I an artist and small business owner, I am also currently the oldest known survivor of the rapid aging disease called Progeria.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a motivator, artist, and business owner. I am proud that I have come this far, despite all of the challenges, and that I am still here giving life to my dreams and inspiring others to do the same.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
It’s important to surround yourself with like-minded people. Creators and entrepreneurs that are in alignment with your mission. Be aware that not everyone is out for your best interest, stay connected with those that want others to succeed right along with them.
