We recently had the chance to connect with Patricia C. Rogers and have shared our conversation below.
Patricia C. , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of the inner infrastructure: the calm, laser-focused version of me that greets every Body Smarts® client.
Behind the scenes? Let’s just say I spent a month in a South Sioux City jail, checked into mental hospitals three times, and wrestled with attachment wounds until this very year when I finally created a home steeped in emotional safety. If I make it look easy now, it’s because I did a sh!t-ton of deep nervous-system work—rewiring my brain, releasing trauma from my body’s tissues, and stitching my subconscious back into wholeness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Patricia, founder of Body Smarts®, where I help StruggleBusters® master health, happiness, and abundance by biohacking their neurology and subconscious wisdom. I practice CranioSacral therapy, blending neuroscience, physiology, trauma-informed care, and a dash of quantum physics to treat the whole person.
Because I grew up with complex PTSD, I’ve walked the toughest path from survival to thriving. Whether someone’s dealing with post-fender-bender headaches or lifeshattering Big T traumas, I meet them where they are and guide them into lasting transformation.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The idea that something was “wrong” with me. Growing up with C-PTSD, I was medicated, urged to compensate for a “deficit” that was actually a normal trauma response. Once I discovered how trauma lodges in the brain and body, I let go of that self-judgment. I released old survival strategies so I could step fully into the healer I was born to be.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
I suffered from dissociative amnesia until my early thirties—turns out my “perfectly blessed” childhood hid a toddler-age molestation. The real damage, though, was the lack of safe emotional attachment afterward, thanks to intergenerational trauma in my parents. Healing kicked off when I dove into body-based, trauma-informed work—CranioSacral sessions, nervous-system resets, and subconscious integration—that returned my memory, reconnected my brain and body, and opened the door to spiritual wholeness.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m devoted to making body-based, trauma-informed healing as accessible as brushing your teeth. Therapy’s best-kept secret shouldn’t stay secret. My life’s mission is to get whole-person healing out to every child and adult who needs it—so they can expand out of survival mode, step into their true, authentic selves, tap into unlimited potential, and flow in sync with universal source energy.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’m laying the groundwork for Body Smarts® to evolve from 3-Day Immersions in West Virginia to an international retreat center in these hills. In a decade, I see week-long programs where teams of therapists and clients co-create a collective healing field—uprooting trauma, resetting nervous systems, and catalyzing lifelong health, happiness, and abundance.
