Today we’d like to introduce you to Tabathia Porter.

Hi Tabathia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dr. Tabathia Victoria Porter has a 501c3 non-profit agency who assists and supports victims of minor sexual abuse. She also is a professional singer, songwriter, author and certified life coach and has worked in fostercare with her mother Dorcas Porter for 30 yrs with children with challenging behaiors

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Sexual abuse is a devastating situation to encounter. But for a minor it is catastrophic. Some many components factor in such as mental health as a result of the trauma, physical and spiritual unbalances along with substance abuse can often occur.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have a album entitled LOVE LIFTED ME coming out in January that allows me to express myself vocaly and artisticly in the journey that I experienced. I am definitley know as a singer ,musician and community activist. I work in the area of artistic expression with youth. Music, dance and theatrical presentaion and vocal expression . My years of experience with with youth who have challenging behaviors inspired me to get my Life coach certifical so it can assist me in what I do and that SUPPORT KIDS

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
There is a plethora of youth talent and abilities in this city. That is one of the things I like bes and that is seeking youth with gifts and talents and cultivating them to acheive the next level.. What I dont like is that there are not enough resources available to serve youth with mental issues resulting from trauma and sex abuse
