Rising Stars: Meet Sherry Tyree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Tyree.

Hi Sherry, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up on Grantwood right off of 105th and St. Clair. I went to Empire Computech and then went to Collinwood High School, where I would be Cheerleading Captain and Class President. After that, I went to BGSU, and then I later moved to Atlanta. I lived there for 11 years and got a start on my career in entertainment, starting as a host and then later merging into the acting scene. She has been in a Ceelo Green video called “Lead Me” and now has a show that she is a part of called “The Bottom,” which got picked up on Tubi. I have my own air freshener business called “Atlanta’s Sweet Tea” which is now going through a rebranding period and will be under the Sherry Rose collection. Recently relocated back up north to PA and is now taking on the Pittsburgh market and is now closer to her Cleveland roots.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some struggles that came along was losing her grandpa who she always calls Grandpe’ after graduating high school in 2006. Then later taking care of her grandma and losing her shortly after having her first child Michael in 2016. There was a period of time after moving to PA where there was no place for her to stay, but Sherry has never been a quitter, and she got right on her feet and is now working and booking more gigs in the Pittsburgh market.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have always been artistic and started off doing plays in church and later became a cheerleader, then was on a dance team and also did dinner theater. I’ve just always loved performing. At BGSU, I studied telecommunications and got my Bachelor’s, then had my own shows in radio and tv, then merging into acting where she found her true calling. I also have a strong love for animals and became vegan over 11 yrs. ago.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Also, keep going as long as you have breath in your body you can get over any setback and come back stronger. Words are very powerful; always speak life into yourself and others.
