Rising Stars: Meet Rosie Santiago of Cleveland Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie Santiago.

Hi Rosie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I go by Rosie Santiago, I’m from Cleveland.

I started off just making music trying to figure myself out, and over time it turned into something I took serious. In the beginning it felt like I had to prove myself and create my own opportunities just to be seen.

Now it’s a little different. I’m more focused on what I’m building instead of chasing things. Performing around the city, seeing real reactions, hearing people chant my name — moments like that let me know it’s starting to come together.

It hasn’t always been smooth, it’s been chaotic at times, but that’s really what shaped me and my sound.

Right now I’m stepping into a new phase with Black Rose 3 and starting Black Crown Records. I’m just building and letting everything grow the right way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.

Early on it was a lot of people not taking it serious, doors not opening, and having to create my own opportunities just to even be seen. I had to learn how to move on my own and not depend on people keeping their word.

There’s also been moments where things felt slow or like nothing was really happening, and you start questioning if it’s worth it.

But at the same time, all of that helped me grow. It made me more disciplined and more comfortable with things not always going my way.

Now I look at it like the struggles were needed. It built the mindset I have now.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a music artist, but I look at it more as creating a sound and a presence people can feel.

I don’t try to stay in one lane — I can make something high energy where the whole room turns up, or something more calm and emotional. I focus a lot on energy and how it translates, whether it’s through the music or performing.

I’d say what I’m most known for right now is my performances and the way I can shift a crowd. That’s something I take pride in, especially seeing it grow from small reactions to real moments like mosh pits and people chanting my name.

What sets me apart is I’m not trying to follow what’s already working. I’m building my own sound and doing things my way, especially now with starting Black Crown Records.

I’m most proud of the growth — going from just making music to actually building something real around it.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is growth and building something real.

I’ve seen what it’s like when things don’t move how you expect, so now I’m more focused on what I can control — my work, my mindset, and what I’m creating.

Music is a big part of that, but it’s deeper than just songs. It’s about creating something people can feel and something that actually lasts. That’s where Black Rose 3 comes in — it represents where I’m at mentally and how I’ve grown through everything. Black Rose 3 is the third chapter to the Black Rose Saga! My fans watched it grow… they watched it bleed… now watch what it becomes.

At the same time, building Black Crown Records matters to me because it’s bigger than just me as an artist. It’s about ownership, direction, and having something that’s really mine that I can build on long term. Black Crown Records is a testament to those who defy the ordinary!

I just want everything I’m doing to mean something, not just be a moment.
