Rising Stars: Meet Leslie Fravel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Fravel.

Hi Leslie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today. 
Long story short! 🙂 

In the middle of the night one night, during a really unhappy and completely lost time in my life, the inspiration to start an organic healing spa dropped on my heart so strongly it got me out of bed… The passion of the idea was so strong it kept me up for 24 hours writing down thoughts and ideas of how it would be. I had absolutely no money— so I ran a Groupon ad and used the money they paid upfront to rent a room in an existing spa, buy some organic skincare, and take my first few clients— that was 11 years ago — now I work with 4 other amazing therapists at the spa and hundreds of amazing clients <3 It gives my life passion and purpose. Helping others heal and feel good heals me. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Summer Moon is a total bootstrapped situation— it can be frustrating at times to have so many ideas bursting in your heart and not have the finances to make them happen! We’re getting there slow but sure, though, and the passion I have for what we do has made it a fun journey! 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a beyond organic well-being retreat for your skin + body + soul. Our elevated treatments are luxuriously rooted in ancient wisdom inspired from all corners of the planet. our hearts are poured into searching the world for the most unique + healing treatments as well as sourcing the most beautiful + potent+ wild +beyond organic ingredients from the most untouched sacred places on earth to use in our treatments + on your skin. 

We are also passionate about atmospheric purity and strive to incorporate natural building materials, etc., in all areas of the spa. Our walls are insulated in wool and covered in clay (which you could eat if you wanted to, haha, and it would not harm you), all linens and towels are organic cotton or linen, we only use spring or purified water, we only use nontoxic cleaning and laundry products, etc. 

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
During that time, we had many clients comment that Summer Moon was their happy place, and while they were at the spa, they felt like the pandemic didn’t even exist.
