Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Shaver.

Hi Jennifer, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. Before we ask about your work life, you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My professional journey began as a middle school Spanish teacher, a role I dedicated myself to. However, after the birth of my oldest child, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom for 18 years. My passion for education remained strong, and I’ve always had the heart of an educator. This passion naturally led me to my current role, where I guide midlife women to age successfully. I find joy in teaching women simple lifestyle changes that they can easily incorporate to help them age gracefully, maintain or lose weight, and continue to enjoy their favorite activities. Aging need not be daunting, and it doesn’t have to mean inevitable weight gain. Workouts and diets need not be extreme. I take pride in showing women how their next chapter in life can be their best and most robust yet.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has had its share of challenges, particularly in balancing family commitments with building a new career. Transitioning from a stay-at-home mom to a health and wellness coach required me to overcome self-doubt and obtain appropriate certifications. Inspiring midlife women to prioritize their health amidst their busy lives has been a significant yet rewarding obstacle. However, I’ve learned that any obstacle can be overcome with determination and the proper support.

Let’s switch gear a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in helping midlife women achieve their fitness goals and age successfully through personalized exercise and lifestyle programs. I am proud of my Strong for Life monthly strength training program, which allows women to gain strength and confidence from home without extreme time commitments or exercises. Partnering with PFC3 to offer a complete nutrition component complements my program, serving the body, mind, and lifestyle. I focus on simple yet effective strategies that seamlessly fit into busy lives, empowering many women to regain control over their health and well-being. My background as an educator sets me apart, enabling me to teach and motivate women in a relatable and achievable way.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I envision the fitness industry evolving into a more personalized and accessible space, with a significant increase in virtual and home-based programs. There will be a greater emphasis on holistic wellness, integrating mental health, nutrition, and fitness into comprehensive lifestyle programs. Technology will play a more significant role, with advancements in fitness apps, wearable devices, and online coaching platforms making it easier for people to stay motivated and track their progress. This future is a possibility and a reality we can all look forward to.
