Rising Stars: Meet Hannah Tramonte of Medina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Tramonte

Hi Hannah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey as a musician in my church’s choir when I was in elementary school. I remember going up to the choir director with my grandma and asking if I could join, and they were excited to see someone so young and so excited. Gaining confidence there, I auditioned for my school’s musical, and fell in love with the theatre. I participated in musical theatre, vocal lessons, and singing competitions my entire K-12 career, but I was still, but I still was not creatively fulfilled. I yearned to write and perform my own music, and ultimately dedicated myself to that path. I began releasing original music in high school, and have pursued a career in the industry ever since. The first original song I released was Fighter. It talks about overcoming challenges and everyday struggles, believing in yourself, and being proud of who you are. This song made me realize how important it is to share my voice with others. Later, I released my next original song, Good Enough. From performing at Nashville Underground and Mahall’s to Huntington Bank Field and Playhouse Square—and not to mention being Northeast Ohio’s country club hot commodity— it’s safe to say I’ve gotten myself in front of lots of people. Some of my favorite experiences in the industry have been recording with Brandy Melville in NYC, performing at CMA Fest in Nashville, opening for Andy Grammer at Playhouse Square, and performing the National Anthem for the Browns, Cavaliers, and Guardians. Now, I am set to release my new single, Red Light Kiss, on March 10th! I haven’t released a new song in two years, and I believe Red Light Kiss represents who I am as an artist now and where I see my music going. This song represents a girl in a fast paced life who realizes that when you have a good thing in front of you, you need to slow down and take it all in. I am so excited for everyone to hear this song and see how I’ve grown as an artist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This industry is not an easy one to navigate. And while my parents were not involved in the music world whatsoever, I am so grateful to have their support and guidance. We’re figuring it out together – slowly but surely. I learned very early on that this career comes with a lot of rejection, no matter how good or successful you are. There are so many ups and downs, but every closed door allows more to open. In a strange way, I’m grateful for the rejection I’ve faced, as it’s led me to where I am now. If not for the times I lost a singing competition or didn’t get the part, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ve taken a very easy-going approach to this career, where I welcome every opportunity that comes my way but I do not chase things that will not serve me. I believe in God and His plan, and whatever that may mean for me on this path, I will keep working hard and trusting in Him.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer-songwriter based in Cleveland, and I specialize in storytelling. With my journey starting in musical theatre, a lot of my writing emphasizes the aspects of telling a story. And while I communicate my own niche experiences, I strive to connect with my audience so that they feel reached by my lyrics. In November of 2021, I released my first original song, Fighter. It talks about overcoming challenges, believing in yourself, and being proud of who you are. This song not only introduced me to my true passion, but also made me realize how important it is to share my voice with others. Songwriting made me realize that my voice matters. It’s impactful. It can help people and change lives, and that is something I never thought I’d be able to do. Later, I released my next original song, Good Enough. It talks about being confident, and not listening to anyone’s opinion. And now, I am set to release my new single, Red Light Kiss, on March 10th! I am especially excited for this release, as it’s sort of my reawakening as an artist. I’m only 20, but I’ve grown so much and am finally coming into my own as an artist.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
During the pandemic, I decided that in order for me to succeed in the field I was in, I couldn’t stop because the industry did. I had to keep going. I entered countless singing competitions and found great success with Broadway World’s Next On Stage National Competition, placing in the Top 3 of the nation. And, in doing so, I ultimately learned one thing: you just have to keep going. Perseverance is key. When doors close—and they will—you have to understand that it’s not the end. The word “no” is far too familiar for many performers, but it’s important to reframe it. “No” doesn’t mean to give up; it means to adjust, recalibrate, and keep moving. If something doesn’t align with you or your path, it simply isn’t meant for you. In those moments, it’s crucial to stand firm in your beliefs and values. It may feel challenging in the moment, but accept it, learn from it, and keep going. You can’t create something from nothing, but with persistence, what is truly meant for you will eventually come your way.
