Meet Zen Sonora of Lima

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zen Sonora

Hi Zen , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a little girl I’ve always been fascinated and obsessed with Americas Next Top Model. I’ve always wanted to model and with me being a shorter curvy model it wasn’t much opportunity for me to be able to do so! However, after the modeling started opening doors to ALL models! I took my chance! I didn’t have my first professional photoshoot until later on in life when I had my maternity shoot for my sun. The photographer kept asking if I modeled and complemented me saying how natural I was at taking pictures! I’ve always been a selfie queen but being in front of an actual camera just give me so much joy and determination. I started researching perfect photographer around my area and met Amanda Rose! She has taken majority of my pictures and gave me a lot of opportunities from others just off the amazing work we both done. After that i started working with Ohio Creative United and they started working with me with posing, runway walking, and good networking events. That’s when I started being booked backed to backed and being place in doors I’ve never even imagined! I’ve gotten into La Fashion Week, Published in magazines! , websites! Much more! I’m super grateful I took that leap of faith and letting my inner child shine

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It actually has not been a smooth road! You are definitely going to hit some bumps in the road with the modeling industry! It’s been many designers what have said “NO”. Many fashion shows that had to be dropped due to transportation.

Many model calls that I traveled to I was not booked for! Which comes with the industry . You just have to keep pushing because someone will say YES!!!!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What set me apart from others is my determination and optimism. Any obstacle that came in my way I’ve overcame it and continue to overcome it. I just keep staying positive and never take things to personal. I’m-proud of the accomplishments I’ve gained while modeling!

I worked my way up to be a modeling coach which is amazing because I love to pass knowledge on to others that want it just as bad as I do. I am a style coordinator as well so I also help the model with clothing options for their Shoot.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
You are good enough!!!! Your journey isn’t going to be like everyone else’s! Another lesson I have learned is confidence! You have to have confidence going into the field .

You will see that there are better models then you and you can NOT compare yourself! You take things one step at a time and eventually you still get it!
