Meet Twilla Walker of Women In Motion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Twilla Walker.

Hi Twilla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. 
“In a world of Roses, I choose to be a butterfly.” 

I find comfort in knowing that all things happen for the greater good. My great-grandmother always told me, “Twilla, you will go further than you ever meant to go”. I only intended to be “A free spirit. But it cost me so much more. This has been my life story. 

In 2014, while 4 1/2 months pregnant, I was sentenced to prison for 3 1/2 years. While incarcerated, I gave birth and ultimately kept my daughter with me for 9 months. After sending her home, I went through a hard time of adjusting. An opportunity for being in charge of cleaning the unit was presented, and I accepted. I was in charge of getting the cleaning supplies together and making sure our unit was cleaned regularly. This was something I took very serious. In such a small community, germs spread faster and lasted longer. By doing my part, it kept us safer and maintained a cleaner environment. 

Some days we would cook meals and discuss our future plans upon being released. We discussed so many things. I shared my plans of starting a cleaning business. I found a passion for it I never knew existed. My father owns a truck transportation business called “Man In Motion LLC.” This inspired me immensely. He was 1/3 visitors I had during my incarceration. After thinking about it, I decided to name my business Women In Motion LLC. The vision was clear. A woman transforming and constantly advancing through opportunities. 

I was released in March of 2018. I purchased my LLC In August of 2019. For many years, I didn’t want to discuss my incarceration. People constantly told me that I needed to forget about that place. But that place is what created and forced the change in me. I may have been a number in there, but I am a woman with a successful 5-star cleaning business in this world. Which is my reality. I finally have created a home for myself and for 5 years I have dedicated my sweat, tears, failures, and triumphs into my business. 

“What does it profit for a man to gain the world and lose his own soul.” I am dedicated to the cause of restoration, 2nd chances, and women becoming more than who the world defines US to be. 

A woman in Motion will forever be in Motion! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road goes without a few bumps. It has been far from smooth. I’ve been homeless, incarcerated, and shunned in my community. But there is redemption.

Women In Motion LLC is a cleaning business that offers residential and commercial cleaning to clients in Cleveland, Ohio and the surrounding areas. We specialize in high-quality cleaning services while being known for great customer service. 

What matters most to you?
Success. This matters most to be because I feel it mirrors my entire existence. From children, family, friends, mistakes, advances, etc… Success depends on my choices.

• My basic cleaning services start at $150. I run specials at least 3 times weekly.
