Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Branscomb.
Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Yes, my history of video goes back into high school. I graduated from Miamisburg High school and was part of the media/production class. We produced a show every week called “1860 Belvo”(schools address). I attended the football games and got a lot of the sideline footage. Fast forward 18 years of working retail and sales jobs. My church approached me about “helping us go FB live” I had a few contacts and started to pickup a camera again and learned a lot. From 2017-2019. January 2020 I was approached by another videographer to help them with weddings. So in March of 2020 I filmed my first wedding. Really enjoyed it and looked into doing them for my own and my newly started business(December 2019). Now backing up to March 4th of 2020. I went FB live and quit my job! Because I was ready to take the leap. Didn’t know exactly what I was gonna do but I’m gonna do it. So for the last 4 1/2 years I’ve been on my own. We have shot and filmed over 100 weddings in that time. I say we because my wife joined in 2021. Not fully but help out in July at a wedding in Lorain Ohio. She was instantly hooked and loved it. It took a few years of becoming established but after a year “helping” 2021-2022. 2023 she quit her job as a teacher aid for the local elementary school system and jumped fully into the business. We haven’t looked back since. My 10 year old son Jamison has helped on weddings as well.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Booking weddings, marketing yourself and how to do it properly. Wearing so many hats it gets exhausting.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So we specialize in weddings, but we do everything from headshots to small business branding photos, and videos for all those that are in need. We do family photos. We do Christmas time Easter. We like to be involved in the community and we have done that over the last year or two years working with the local community small businesses to help grow their brand and with photos and video.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the rich history of PIQUA and the community has been very very welcoming. What I don’t like about the City Of PIQUA is that they’ve spent a lot of the tax paying dollars and how it’s not really what the community has wanted and needed we had our pole completely shut down and building in with dirt. There’s not much for the kids to do being that. We have two small children in the city lacks on kid, friendly outdoor things to do.
