Meet Renee Goodwin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Goodwin. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started off very young in the music industry working for the singer Ciara Harris website! I use to do website/fansites at a very young age. I owned sincerelyciara.com which was a fan site for Ciara! and got discovered by her label and her and she ended up being my first gig! I’ve worked for other artist after that, I really enjoyed myself learning new things about the industry, etc. 

I’ve since then switched career paths as the blogging world begin to switch over to Instagram and blogging websites wasn’t as popular anymore. I’ve always been pretty popular on the internet rather it was my tweets going viral, ‘photos on Instagram people liked, etc. under @missezrenee you’ll always see missezrenee on viral tweets, etc. lol! We switched over to a world of Instagram and entrepreneurship which was a bit different from what I am used to however I adapted quickly! I became a bit more popular based off the photos and decided to brand into being an influencer/brand ambassadors for different brands. I decided to step into the clothing/ Fashion world! I teamed up with Quincy Taylor of def jam/capital structure to create PAF clothing www.prettyasfvck.com 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely was not a smooth road! Learning to adapt very quickly to the change with social media, the industry itself can be very cutthroat. Struggling with anxiety, not feeling good enough. Learning the clothing/fashion business was different and a challenge! I had to learn to be my own cheerleader and not be so down on myself when things didn’t work out. Being an influencer has its up and down days as well. Mentally it can be a lot! 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am now a full-time content creator and again that honestly was something I never expected to do! I enjoy posting content and modeling and promoting new brands and events it’s very fun! 

I am mostly proud of myself for never giving up and still smiling when things were super hard! I think what sets me apart from others is my strive to do better I can bounce back from anything. No matter what I always wake up with faith. 

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I would say I’ve learned to not take things so personal and also to appreciate the process of the journey instead of rushing things. Understanding that everything happens for a reason and what’s for you will be for you!
