Meet Peyton Montgomery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peyton Montgomery.

Hi Peyton, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory. 
Make It Posh Picnics was created from my long-standing passion for events, tied with my love for quality time with loved ones. As a mama of two, I have picnicked more times than I could ever count, and I always loved making it, well, posh. Cute baskets, snacks, and a beautiful throw to sit on. Simple but posh nonetheless. From there, I decided that I wanted to try to combine my love for events (mostly in the party and wedding industries) with my love for creating spaces to share memories. Hence, Make It Posh Picnics was created! 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road? I would not say smooth, but it has not been all that challenging either. I would venture to say that because it is something I have such a passion for, I welcome the challenge and grow in the challenge. The start was a harder time because I was getting my feet wet, and I was so afraid to fail! Once I started seeing how the community was welcoming and interested in my picnics, I just grew so much from there. Each season has had its own challenges- winter being a hard one for me as you can imagine. But it only further sparks my mind for creativity and resources. Finding ways to picnic and create space through the cold has probably been my greatest challenge that I am still always navigating each season!

Make It Posh Picnics specializing in creating unique picnic-style events. We pride ourselves on taking your ideas/ visions and wants and making them into something beautiful for you to enjoy- without having to do all the work. This allows our guests to simply relax, enjoy, and creating those core memories! 

Personally, as the Founder of Make It Posh Picnics, I would say that I am most proud of still being here! As a creative, I have dabbled in many an adventure, and some stick and some do not- I am so proud that I am still all in and thriving here. 

I strongly believe that what really sets Make It Posh Picnics apart from other, though it’s already such a unique concept… would be the attention to detail as well as the community behind it all. When I started this, I never knew how important other small businesses would be in the growth. I very much could not have done all of this without the amazing women and humans alike that I have created relationships with these last few years. 

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Do not be afraid to reach out to other small businesses and create that conversation! It is amazing what brainstorming with another like-minded person can do for you creatively. Create that network and keep it close and ever-growing. I have some of my best ideas/ memories in this business from small gatherings I have hosted for other small businesswomen just to be together. I adore sharing space with other creatives.
