Meet Nathan Jameson of Jameson Consulting Group LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Jameson

Hi Nathan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Nate Jameson, was born in Columbus, Ohio, and is a Columbus City School graduate. As an inner city athlete, he believed he was going to be a professional athlete, like many of his peers. Growing up, playing AAU basketball and was a stand out athlete in Basketball. After playing on one of the top High School Basketball Teams in the nation, Northland High School, he decided to transfer to Eastmoor Academy High School in 2012 for his Junior Year. In the moment, he didn’t know that that move would change his life. His senior year as he was planning to play basketball Collegiately at Capital University, his life changed by the words of one individual, Marsee Waddell, who was his Powerpoint teacher. One day Nate walked into the classroom to get ready for a presentation. when Ms.Waddell said these words ” Come here. Let me talk to you. Do you know you have a presence about you? When you walk into a room, you demand attention.” She then put him as one of the speakers at his Senior Breakfast and the rest was history. She saw something in Nate before he saw it in himself. After speaking at the breakfast, He knew he had discovered his gift and purpose. Nate graduated from Eastmoor Academy High School in 2014 and attended Capital University, Columbus State Community College, and North Carolina A&T State University, studying business entrepreneurship. Nate began volunteering in the community providing inspirational speaking and leadership workshops at the young age of 18. He founded Jameson Consulting Group LLC in 2022, focusing on student development, staff training, and inspirational speaking. Jameson Consulting Group LLC has an emphasis on leadership development, Social-Emotional Learning, Identity, Student to staff relationship, STEM and goal setting. Nate has worked with various institutions and entities, including but not limited to COMTO Columbus, Learning Never Ends LLC, National Management Association, Capital University, Clark Atlanta University, North Carolina A&T State University, The Ohio State University, Wright State University, Pickerington Local School District, Columbus City Schools, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and Reynoldsburg City Schools

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Family members, friends and loved ones telling me to get a job.

Family members, friends and loved ones not seeing the vision and understanding the level of commitment, discipline and sacrifice it takes to grow, manage and provide a service in business.

Failed relationships and going through a divorce was really challenging for me.

Having to use belief as my fuel to pursue my dreams even when no one believed.

Losing my father in 2016 was the hardest loss I have ever had to deal with while building my business.

I am primarily known for Youth programming and public speaking. I began with Inspirational speaking at the age of 18 and my services graduated into programming, staff PD and coaching also. I believe what sets me apart and has allowed me to be successful is the authenticity, attention to detail and boldness that I provide when working with both adults and the youth. Jameson Consulting Group LLC has a slogan that says “effective, relatable, relevant”. We believe that our ability to be all of these things, is what allows us to have successful relationships and partnerships that get good results.

I am most proud of the fact that I get to help other people become better versions of themselves and that people believe enough in me to invest in their future. I want people to know that we work with Schools, both private and public, Colleges along with businesses and corporations. We provide inspirational speaking, staff PD, Life and Business Coaching, and Youth programming. I have been labeled as one of Central Ohio’s top speakers and one of Central Ohio’s top Consulting Companies.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
-Be willing to invest in a mentor to learn what you do not know

-Develop a real relationship with your mentor

-Your network can change your life, so be willing to branch out, expand and put yourself in uncomfortable situations to meet different people

-You Can’t do it alone so be intentional about creating a network

-Your mentor can be someone that you have never met before

What has worked well for me is being intentional about putting myself in spaces and rooms that are uncomfortable in order to meet other professionals and develop relationship with them. I also am not afraid of asking for help or willing to pay for people’s time. You have to show people that you value and appreciate their time and effort that they pour into you. I also prioritize getting information and knowledge from successful individuals who I have never met and who may have passed away from audiobooks, books, speeches, videos and sermons.
