Meet Morgan Ingle of B&C Bakeshop by Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Ingle.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always LOVED baking, particularly holidays. I grew up doing lots of baking with my family. Before opening B&C Bakeshop, I was a dental hygienist for 8 years. Although I enjoyed what I was doing, with two kids at home I decided to be able to work from home and control my schedule would work best for my family.

One day I just decided – let’s see if I can turn my love for baking into a business. I bought all of my supplies and within 3 months, I was a full-time cookier. I love being able to work with my customers to make their special occasions memorable.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Overall, I feel like I have been able to navigate the struggles of starting a new business successfully. A few, however, that stick out have been associated with navigating scheduling myself and setting boundaries with my time. I once decorated cookies in my second Christmas season for 24 hours straight! Yikes. I used to feel like the days were so long. Now being a business owner, there are never enough hours in the day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
B&C Bakeshop by Morgan is the name of my business I started in September 2019. It is a cottage food bakery (in-home bakery) located in Marysville, Ohio. I specialize in custom sugar cookies for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, holidays, logos (businesses), etc.

Each & every cookie that leaves is individually heat-sealed to ensure maximum freshness. I strive to keep up with the newest in the cookie world when it comes to packaging, styles, and tools to provide cookies that not only taste great but can be the talk of the party or event!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting.
My advice to anyone starting is to not be afraid to start. Growth and improvement will come with practice & more practice. I look back now to cookies from 3 years ago and can’t believe the change I see. I have learned SO MUCH from others who share their cookie business on social media. I am so grateful for them sharing their knowledge with me.
