Meet Melanie Kinzer of Wick and Candle Metaphysical Gallery & Gifts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Kinzer.  

Hi Melanie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Following the Breadcrumbs… To begin my story, you would have to revisit the year of 2013. During this year, I was led onto a path that would eventually change not only my life but the life of my family. I was introduced to the world of metaphysics in search of answers to questions and gain insight into situations that could not be explained in the “normal” sense. On this path, I found people who believed in what we were experiencing and could also give me answers and provide the guidance I was desperately searching for. I met so many gifted people who all played a part in the journey of following the breadcrumbs. With each step forward, I listened, studied, read books, and gained knowledge, all of which led to a path of empowerment and enlightenment. From there, I fine-tuned my interest and gained a better understanding of the metaphysical world. 

With each breadcrumb I followed, I took note and realized there were so many kind souls who helped me, and I wanted to pay it forward by creating a safe space where others could come to follow their own breadcrumbs as well. Taking on such a large task took a lot of twist and turns, leaps of faith, and learning constantly. My shop did not happen overnight but over years. I took the lessons from the realm of the unseen or heard, crystals from the earth, herbs from plant medicine, and of course, self-evaluation and inner reflection. 

Finally, the breadcrumbs lead me to a space where I could open my own metaphysical store. Then the next part of the journey began. Fast forward to the year 2020. I found myself opening a metaphysical gallery and gift shop in the beginning of a global pandemic. I called upon all the experiences I had up until that point and put all of my faith and trust in the guidance I was receiving from Source. The connections I have made with Spirit and Source have never mislead me or deviated from my path in this lifetime. 

My metaphysical shop has now celebrated its 3rd anniversary. I have actualized the dream and brought the vision in my head to life and have found that what I’ve created indeed continues to pay the energy and sentiment forward. The clients and customers that I have seen thus far are all living through the different stages of their own breadcrumb journey, which in turn enhances my life journey and experiences as I continue create and expand for myself, my family, and my store. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening a business during a global pandemic, there were building delays, construction obstacles, personality conflicts. Some things were too good to be true, which is a very true statement. I found my ride-or-die team during this process. I cannot say enough good things about my people and their worth in my life. They have the same visions for me, and their constant support and guidance is my true asset. 

On my journey thus far, there were so many obstacles to overcome. With every step that I took there were blessings and lessons, which is the way life is supposed to be. I have continuously been true to myself and stuck to the path my life has taken me on, and through the journey, I have found my personal strength.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have a family-run business. I am blessed to have my husband and two sons by my side, as well as my best friend and a close family friend who are not blood-related but who are absolutely a part of my family forever. 

Having said this, I attribute my success to the team as a whole. Each person brings their own individual strengths to the table for the success and well-being of the whole. There were countless times I wanted to backpedal, but with the support of this special circle, I was propelled forward, and now we all thrive as an unbreakable unit. 

I have seen this team time and time again helping our clients in such a beautiful and cohesive way. Our clients and customers express their appreciation for the support of my store and the gifts the team is able to pay forward because of the experience each of them provides.
