Meet Kourtney Marks-Meyers of Str8 Juice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kourtney Marks-Meyers.

Hi Kourtney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My husband, Sol and I started a gardening journey back in 2020 while we were pregnant with our first daughter, Marley. We wanted to develop self-sustainable skills so that we can be more in control of our lives while also nourishing our family and our environment. We realized this was important for other families to learn, so we started our nonprofit, Love Alwayz Foundation. Str8 Juice is a branch of this nonprofit and is a way for us to provide a healthy eating option for our community while accomplishing the mission of Love Alwayz. We began Str8 Juice as a food truck in 2024 and attended farmers’ markets. In January 2026, we opened our very first storefront in Pemberville, OH, only 9 minutes away from our community center and homestead, Garden of Treatz.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Finding consistent volunteers and operational funding for Love Alwayz is our biggest challenge.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Str8 Juice ?
Str8 Juice serves cold-pressed juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, coffee, and more! We specialize in cold-pressed juice, which is a method to preserve nutrients in fruits, vegetables, and herbs in juice, allowing for better nutrient absorption, which has amazing health and wellness benefits. We are also known for our smoothies! We don’t use any dairy products or added sugars in any of our products, which sets us apart from others. I am mostly proud that we locally source majority of products from local vendors! When you support Str8 Juice and Love Alwayz Foundation, you are helping local businesses thrive!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
We have met many local businesses along the way who have offered advice, resources, and support along our journey. These include but are not limited to K&J Farms, Portage River Mushrooms, Callisto Terra, Earthly Magik, Flatlands Coffee, Grounds for Thought, Fremont Fencing, Casa Rio, The Comfy Cactus, Remedy Salon + Wellness, Country Cupboard, Beekers General Store and BG Independent.
