Today we’d like to introduce you to Karah Pierce.
Hi Karah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up with a lot of cousins and my Grandma would get us all together and have a Bible stories, crafts, and play a game. I loved doing the crafts with her. I continued crafting, painting, and any kind of art I could find to do. I eventually found Resin. I began making little things for family, and myself, until I had made so many different things I ran out of places to out them. I love using color, nature and movement in my pieces. And constantly trying new techniques and evolving my art. I had talked to a few friends and my husband and decided to do Spring Fest in the burg. Bought myself a tent some tables and displays, and did my first show in 2025. My very first show on my very first day we got terrible winds and possible tornado touch down. My tent was destroyed. My neighbor vendor 4th Avenue Farmhouse lent me a tent encouraged me to stay and stick it out. I did. I realized then and there that being a vendor was not only about sharing your art under a local business, but a community of artist and business owners. Supporting each other, helping, and giving advice to help new vendors come along. I love the people I have met, and love going to the shows and festivals. And most of all sharing my art! My business is slowing growing and so is my community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Besides the tornado on my first day as a vendor. There has definitely been some ups and downs. Id have to say the biggest struggle I have is, since I am sole owner, operator, and artist, its hard to find help for the shows. Sometimes 10-12 hours by yourself you have to rely on your neighbor vendor to watch so you can eat or use the restroom. Or you have to pay someone to come with you. But so far I have met and had some amazing people help along the way. And very lucky to have family to come help when they can. Especially my amazing great niece Abbie who loves to spend time with her Aunt Rah Rah!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I believe what makes me different as a resin artist is i dont limit myself. There’s always a solution. There may be fails along the way trial and error but I never give up on an idea. By doing that nothings off limit with my resin. From dried florals, moss, rocks, to geniune crystal. Color styles and techniques. I get an idea, or am given and idea from customers or friends. And I just go for it. I put my heart in everything I make and every piece is unique and special. Most recently I was able to find a way to put movement into my pieces and currently expanding that collection. Where you can pick up a figurine and shake it and watch the liquid inside swirl with color or additives. The piece comes alive with color and movement.
