Meet Jason Wein

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Wein.

Jason Wein

Hi Jason, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Auburn, Ohio – Reithoffer’s Art Spirits & Entertainment in Auburn Township, on the edge of Chagrin Falls, is bringing fresh new experiences to the NE OH entertainment scene.

As a family-run company with son Morris and parents Jason and Debby Wein at the helm, Hoff’s offers live music, comedy nights, interactive drum parties, and various artistic workshops, including glass blowing taught by the talented glass blowers at Clevelandart, an industrial lighting and furniture company neighboring Reithoffer’s, also owned by the Weins.

The building housing this artistic entertainment venue was previously owned by late community activist John Reithoffer, for whom the venue is named. A WWII veteran, founder of the Geauga County Realtor’s Association, and a co-founder of the Auburn Fire Department, who was also an auctioneer, antique dealer, and much more, Reithoffer was a pillar of his community during his time.

This eclectic space is also available to rent for company team building, baby showers, birthdays, family reunions, any reason to throw a party. Our place is unique, with one-of-a-kind pieces from Clevelandart, vintage pieces acquired by the talented artist Jason Wein.

Reithoffer or Hoff’s also offers art shows in June and August and over the Holidays. We offer everything from craft cocktails to $3.00 Gennessee’s. Food can be brought in, or on some of our bigger events we will have food trucks. Our next large event is July 22nd, when we have Rockin’ Reggae w/Mighty Mystics & the Hard Roots Movement. Headlined by Dreadlock Dave and DJ George. Food will be sold by Normandy catering. For this event, we do charge $25 pre-ticket sale or $30 at the door.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We purchased the building in 2018, and it has been clean up ever since. It took a lot of hard work and resources to have the building ready for our patrons. But if it was easy, everyone could do it. We are glad it is behind us, and we can look forward to make Hoff’s a success for people to enjoy. It is a never-ending process we are not done yet, but that is the fun of it to see it evolve.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Jason Wein is the visionary behind this project. He is the owner of Clevelandart and was repurposing when it wasn’t yet in vogue. He has 30 years of experience in using steel, wood, and glass in creating furniture, sculpture, bars, etc. He has an amazing eye to use materials that others would discard and make something beautiful and functional out of it. www.clevelandart.com for more information

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
A lot of people became creative during covid. We held our artshows before we turned it into a bar, and after covid so many more people signed up. A lot of them started during covid, and they came up with great art they created. It was great to see. Hoff’s Clevelandart likes to support all artists.
