Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Hunt.

Hi Heather , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got started in the medical aesthetic and training industry after I graduated college with a science degree and got a position as a sales rep for a major medical aesthetic and laser company. In 2000, I decided to go back to school and received my advanced aesthetician license and started my own med spa in 2001.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the early years med, spa treatments were considered a luxury and building a clientele was challenging. Med spa marketing and equipment is very costly as well.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in skin, rejuvenation, permanent cosmetics, including scar, and stretch mark reduction. I train other licensed professionals including physicians, nurses and aestheticians in medical Aesthetic modalities and offer consulting to help them open their own businesses. I am proud to say that I have trained dermatology centers around the country including case western reserve. In the over 20 years training I have helped thousands of mostly women open their own businesses. I am different because I offer ongoing support and consulting for my students. I’m also a female business owner.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
You don’t have to get a large loan or a second mortgage to open your own business! Start with one certification, make money and grow slowly. You don’t have to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical Aesthetic equipment either! Their are services that are extremely lucrative and require very little investment to provide.
