Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Milliken

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always loved to decorate homes, inside and out, especially for holidays and special occasions. For a short period of time, I was even running an interior design business. One day, my husband told me about a woman in Texas (Heather with Porch Pumpkins) who went viral decorating porches with pumpkins. As soon as I heard the idea, I KNEW it was exactly what I wanted to do! If you know me, you know Fall is my favorite season, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and I love all things pumpkin – pumpkin spice, pumpkin pies, pumpkin patches… everything pumpkin! I have always enjoyed decorating my own porch with pumpkins and I knew this was a gift I could share with others! Within a week’s time I launched Porch Perfect Ohio and started delivering pumpkins and designing porches all across Central Ohio!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have wanted to be an entrepreneur for a very long time and so I had already laid the groundwork years ago by creating my LLC, Homestead Design + Co. That afforded me the opportunity to move quickly with my DBA, Porch Perfect Ohio. The first porch I did was my own. I went to several local grocery stores and pumpkin patches near me to gather all the pumpkins I needed to take pictures for my website and to start decorating porches. My plan for this year (2024) was to just use my porch and a few of my friends and family’s porches as “porch models” to showcase the pumpkin packages I would be offering. However, before I could even finish photographing my own porch, I had already gotten my first two paying clients, and I hadn’t even announced the new business on social media yet! I do believe God has been blessing this venture of mine, and it has been so fun! I love to see people enjoy the pumpkins as much as I do! I do not doubt struggles will come in the business, but I am so thankful to know I have a loving, supportive community surrounding me who will be cheering me on through those challenges.

Hi! I’m Danielle Milliken, the Founder of Porch Perfect Ohio – Your Central Ohio Pumpkin Delivery and Design Concierge Service. I bring the pumpkin patch to your front porch! I take care of purchasing, cleaning, delivering, designing, and removing the pumpkins from your porch… all you have to do is sit back and enjoy. I offer different pumpkin packages to select from so you can pick the design that’s right for you! While I do offer packages, no two porches and no two installs are the same! What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I am born and raised in Columbus and I love my city! I grew up on the South Side, so the 43207 zip code will always have a special place in my heart. I’m a total foodie and I love the food scene in Columbus. I love what a diverse city Columbus is and all of the creative arts we get to enjoy here. I also love the seasons! I can’t imagine living somewhere that you don’t experience leaves changing colors in the Fall and having snowball fights every Winter.
