Hi Clement, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Cleveland Curiosities, our brick-and-mortar store, opened its doors in the heart of Lakewood, Ohio, in 2018. Before that, we were an online business that began in high school about 14 years ago. My wife, Hallie, and I met 12 years ago, and after both of us graduated, we decided it was time to open a storefront. Our primary goal is to create a welcoming and educational environment for our community. We believe that education and fostering curiosity are essential for personal growth and development.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a relatively smooth journey thanks to our wonderful and accepting community. While there are certainly people who don’t understand or appreciate our shop, our incredible customers and supporters far outweigh their negative influence.

Cleveland Curiosities, an antiques and oddities shop, aims to infuse Lakewood, Ohio, with a touch of peculiarity. Our store boasts an extensive collection of one-of-a-kind items, including natural history decor, taxidermy, skulls, funeral items, old biology and anatomy models, jewelry, Victorian statues, and much more. Occasionally, we offer bug pinning classes and display a large selection of custom-pinned and framed butterflies, moths, and beetles in-store. We prioritize creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and are passionate about sharing knowledge about both extraordinary and historical subjects, from abnormally born animals to the fascinating history of various items. In-store, you’ll find a few uniquely formed animals with two faces, one eye, and five legs, all of which are genuine and we thoroughly enjoy discussing them.
How do you think about luck?
We’ve been fortunate enough to open in Lakewood, a community that’s incredibly accepting, supportive, and wonderful.
