Hi Celeste Casto-Goehring and Amy Willison, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Local Roots salon is the result of two best friends and a small dream that has grown by leaps and bounds. It started out with a dream to be independent on our own. To have the freedom to be self employed yet still be together.
Our community and clients are the very best. We have truly been blessed beyond measure. To see our schedules so full, to hear our salon recommended daily is something I cannot put into words.
Almost two years ago we added a third stylist, Debbie. She has been in our industry for over 50 years. She brings not only years of knowledge and talent, but also a skill set most stylist does not offer.
Recently we were given the opportunity to grow and expand. We jumped at the chance! Our new salon was built in the 1800’s and truly a gorgeous building. The transformation came together better than either of could have ever imagined. It was as if each item was meant to be. The overwhelming support of our clients is something so truly special it’s hard to describe
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Truly, it has been fairly easy. Both of us have been in the industry for quite a few years. We each have worked at previous locations. Each salon has brought lessons of good things to help shape each of us and the future we wanted with Local Roots.
When the opportunity arose for us to step out on our own, we were nervous but very excited. Our community is full of incredible people. Our families, friends and community members were overwhelmingly supportive. So many clients choose us daily, that isn’t something we take lightly

Local Roots Salon focuses on all things hair.
We offer a plethora of services . Anything from a custom cut and color to a fabulous perm. currently we have 4 stylist, with room to add one more. Each of our stylist brings unique and special talent.
I think what sets us apart the most is not only the stunning new location, but the consistent services each client receives. All local Roots clients are truly family. We care about each client , their needs and wants. Our goal is great customer service and high quality results. We truly try our hardest to make each guest feel beautiful.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?

I think the salon industry has changed tremendously over the past 10 years. Looking at how the styles have grown and changed is incredible . Seeing the incredible talent of so many stylist in our industry is inspiring on many levels. This is the type of career that is ever changing, the possibilities are endless.
I think the use of social media has taken the beauty industry to a new level. Moving forward I’m interested to see how AI and other tools will shape how we do things differently. One thing is for certain, every day talented stylist are shaping our industry of making people feel beautiful
