Meet Candice Quick of Mise 33 LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Quick.

Hi Candice, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started with a love of cooking and hospitality and a desire to create experiences that make people feel cared for. I spent years working in the hospitality industry, learning not only how to cook but how to connect with people through food.

Six years ago, my husband encouraged me to take a leap of faith and launch Mise 33. We started small, taking on private chef clients and doing whatever it took to build a reputation for quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality. There were plenty of long days, early mornings, and challenges along the way, but each client we served helped us grow.

Over the years, Mise 33 has evolved into much more than a private chef business. We now provide custom meal delivery, catering, cooking lessons, we’ve partnered with local organizations and charities and curated dining experiences throughout Columbus. The growth has come largely through word-of-mouth, which is something we’re incredibly proud of because it reflects the trust our clients place in us.

Today, we’re fortunate to have an amazing community supporting us, and we’re excited about what’s next. While we’ve accomplished a lot, we still approach every meal and every event with the same passion and gratitude we had when we first started. Food is what we do, but creating connections and memorable experiences is really why we do it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any small business, we’ve faced our share of challenges over the years. COVID was certainly one of the most significant. While many parts of the hospitality industry were struggling, we were fortunate that our in-home chef services and meal delivery options provided a safe, personalized alternative for clients who still wanted high-quality dining experiences. It required us to adapt quickly, but flexibility has always been one of our strengths.

Another challenge is that people’s lives naturally change over time. Families grow, careers shift, people relocate, and priorities evolve. While it’s always difficult to say goodbye to clients, we’re incredibly grateful for the relationships we’ve built over the years. Some of our clients have been with us from the very beginning, and their loyalty has played a huge role in our success.

Today, like many businesses, we’re navigating an unpredictable economy. We understand that discretionary spending can fluctuate, which means we’re constantly looking for ways to provide value while continuing to deliver exceptional experiences. The good news is that adapting to change is something we’ve become very good at.

Every stage of our journey has presented new challenges, but each one has taught us something valuable. We’ve learned to stay flexible, listen to our clients, and evolve when needed. That adaptability has helped us not only overcome obstacles but continue growing and serving our community in meaningful ways.

The challenges have changed over the years, but our approach hasn’t: stay adaptable, focus on people, and continue delivering an experience that clients can’t get anywhere else.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Mise 33 is a husband-and-wife private chef company based in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in custom meal delivery, private chef services, intimate catered events, and in-home cooking experiences. At its core, our business is built around the idea that exceptional food should be personal, accessible, and tailored to the people we’re serving.

What sets us apart is that we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all menus or experiences. Whether we’re preparing weekly meals for busy professionals, creating a multi-course wine pairing dinner, teaching a cooking class, or catering a special celebration, every menu is customized to our clients’ tastes, dietary needs, and goals. We take the time to get to know the people we cook for, and that relationship-driven approach is a big part of who we are.

We are known for chef-driven food that combines restaurant-quality technique with the warmth and hospitality of a private dining experience. Our clients often tell us that what they appreciate most is not just the food itself, but the level of care, consistency, and personal attention they receive. We strive to make every interaction feel thoughtful and memorable.

Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is the trust we’ve built within our community. Over the past six years, we’ve grown largely through word-of-mouth referrals and long-term client relationships. In an industry where people have countless options, having clients return year after year—and recommend us to their friends and family—is something we never take for granted.

We also believe that food is about more than nourishment; it’s about connection. Whether we’re helping a busy family reclaim time around the dinner table, hosting a wine dinner that brings strangers together, or creating a memorable experience for a special occasion, our goal is always the same: to make people feel cared for through great food and genuine hospitality.

If there’s one thing we’d want readers to know about Mise 33, it’s that we’re not simply delivering meals or catering events—we’re creating personalized culinary experiences designed around each client’s unique needs. That commitment to hospitality, flexibility, and quality is what has guided us from day one and continues to define our brand today.
