Meet Brooke Winkler of Engaging the Spirit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Winkler.

Hi Brooke, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Professionally, I started my journey as a therapist but always sensed there was more of a connection between the psychological and spiritual. So I immersed myself in the study of the mind, body, and spirit, and how to bridge them together. I am a PhD candidate in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University, and am doing my disseration research on Reiki and Mental Health. I am a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, The University of Akron, and Fellowships of the Spirit School of Healing and Prophecy. I retired from therapy in December 2019, after 20 years to open Engaging the Spirit, focusing on Holistic Wellness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a spiritual being, I listen to messages that the Universe sends my way. My biggest struggle was deciding to quit my job that was supporting me but also felt like it was slowly choking me. After making that decision, I have never looked back.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Engaging the Spirit is a holistic wellness business focusing on the connection between mind, body, and spirit. I am an Advanced Heart-Centered Clinical Hypnotherapist, Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor, Reiki Master, Brain Longevity Specialist certified by the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation, Psychic Medium, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Laugh-A-Yoga Coach, MARI Practitioner, Artist, Belly Dancer, Certified Integrative Wellness Coach and have a Creativity, Innovation, and Leadership Certificate.
I put on the WHATT (Wellness, Holistic, Alternative Treatment and Therapy) Fair every year in March. I also put on a Metaphysical Fair every October.
What I want people to know about me that sets me apart…I absolutely love the work that I do, helping people on their healing journey, working to get to the underlying causes of their struggles in order to heal.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Most people would describe me as a happy soul. I work at it. I do my inner work. I find gratitude in my daily life (and keep a gratitude journal). I have the best puppy Baxter in the world. I was just adopted by a little kitty I named Ezra. I also find humor in life.
