Meet Avé Hopson-Walker of Akron & North Canton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Avé Hopson-Walker

Hi Avé, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I switched career paths a few times since finishing high school. One thing I learned immediately is that I desire to work independently. I knew that I liked helping people, but in the way that I wanted to. My first independent job was being an independent provider for Ohio’s department of disabilities. I still hold that title. I grew bonds and relationships with lots of individuals and families. During that time I also experienced a lot of change of my own. Being a single mom and gaining my own independence as an adult. My changes also included a lot of moving. Moving 3 times in 3 years for various reasons, motivated me to get stability in my income and in my home/living situation. Creating passive income so I could spend more time raising my son, while also creating a future for him. Thus my real estate dreams were born. I had A plan. I just had to figure out how to execute it. I found a real estate program that came highly recommended in the summer of 2023, July 3rd to be exact, and committed my time and efforts to getting it done , by September 29 my license was issued and I could start at Jose Medina & Associates-Keller Williams Legacy Group, the following week!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had many obstacles and struggles since becoming a mother, a woman, and a real estate agent. Mental health battles being one of my biggest fights. I do suffer from anxiety & seasonal depression which makes it hard to do a job like real estate. As I’m talking to people day in and day out, constantly building new professional relationships, and traveling to new cities and towns. Some months are great and everyone is nice, transactions are going smoothly and other months, you may deal with some stubborn people, numbers are low, you don’t have activity, your car’s making noises and you still have to get up everyday and work the hardest that you can.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Buyer’s Agent with Jose Medina & associates at Keller Williams Legacy Group in North Canton. I’ve been licensed for 1 year now, selling 1 Million in volume— I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in my first year and all the people I’ve gotten to help find their dream or forever home. I’m most known for being authentic and personable. By the end of every transaction, I want my clients to feel like they’ve gained a lifetime professional bond. Id say that my buyers trust me to go extra mile for them. They ask and I deliver.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
