Meet Alkaline Allie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alkaline Allie.

Hello Alkaline Allie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Alkaline Allie is ran by a dynamic father-daughter duo Earl and Chardonnay Starr. The journey began when my father started having some health issues. He researched and found Dr. Sebi, a Honduran herbalist who promoted an Alkaline diet. It was a concept that suggested restoring your bodies PH balance could improve your health. Dr. Sebi also promoted that consuming processed foods, and genetically modified produce can foster an acidic environment in your body that diseases can thrive in. Eventually, my dad fully submerged in the diet, lifestyle, and the results even shocked his physician. He was once on the path to needing several medications, to not needing them at all. The idea to open a restaurant began about 3 years ago, my dad was aiming to remodel a food truck. Well, life happened, and that project was put on hold. November 2022, our family realtor approached us with a retail space that we immediately fell in love with. It was in Madisonville where my father and entire family resided for decades. Given the connection our family has to the area we knew this was our opportunity to bring delicious, healthy food that is easily accessible.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth ride. The launch of Alkaline Allie has been entirely self-funded. We’ve had to learn how to market our passion into something the community can relate to and be intrigued by. We’ve built our website and social media pages with little no experience with marketing at all. We are fortunate that my father has been a general contractor for years so all the repairs we’ve funded and done ourselves. It has been a journey trying to break into the restaurant industry with no guidance, and just figuring things out along the way.

On a positive note, positive energy, and mindset has made things fall into place. This is how we know this is our time to share this lifestyle with the community. We’ve been hit with some unforeseen obstacles while trying to remodel, and there were times we didn’t know where thousands of dollars would come from, but it always managed to work out.
