Today we’d like to introduce you to Xiet Ruka. 

Hi Xiet, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Koa cleaning company is an organic cleaning company that began in the midst of the pandemic! Although it was just myself cleaning houses at that time and my baby business was yet to be named, I knew then that I wanted to connect with local families, single mamas like myself, or any human, in general, looking for help in finding a new cleaning routine that worked for them in their safe space, all while ensuring that it was done with good intentions and loving hands. Koa blossomed into a 2 human crew that is blessed to have the honors of scrubbin and lovin all over the streets of Lakewood, Cleveland, and some of our surrounding cities. 

We also make most of our cleaning agents that we use to clean each and every house! An all-purpose cleaner and an organic magic powder, no harsh chemicals involved! 

Just a little elbow grease and a lotta love. 

We are small but only by design 🙂 

A true force that intends on growing at our own pace. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has absolutely been some obstacles in creating this little cleaning force and the army we have behind it. I am a 28-year-old human, who also happens to be a full-time mama and papa to a wonderful little lady and I am ensuring everything in our lives is taken care of. 

Trying to navigate life with a little one is already a challenge, but adding growing a business on top of it all was very tough to figure out for a little bit. I’d say the hardest part was trying to find not only reliable help with watching my daughter while I worked, but also help that I could afford. For a while, my daughter would not only accompany me in my estimates but would to come along for almost every single cleanse I had my first-year cleaning. I was very blessed with clients that welcomed my daughter into their house alongside me with open arms until I found someone reputable. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently I am focused on trying to help as many households as I possibly can create a cleaning routine that best fits their needs and busy lives, I am also making the finishing touches for a new cleaning product that will be available to the public. Toilet bowl fizzies will be ready by early November!

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I believe the only risk that we can ever take is the risk of trying to hold back growth within ourselves that is only inevitable. In other words, we are all constantly expanding; mentally, physically, emotionally. I believe that when you hold onto a thought that is hindering you from that new expansion is where the true discord comes from.
