Founded in mid-2022 by Chris and Caity Powell, Thousand Oaks Tattoos & Cosmetics was born from a vision to create more than just a tattoo studio—it’s a space where art, collaboration, and unforgettable experiences meet. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Downtown Springfield, we’ve built a creative hub that brings together some of the most talented and versatile tattoo artists in Southwest Ohio.
From the start, our mission has been simple: to create tattoos that truly matter. We believe tattoos are more than ink on skin—they’re personal stories, milestones, and symbols of identity. Our team takes pride in crafting bold, meaningful pieces that are custom to each client. Whether it’s a small, intimate design or a multi-session masterpiece, we approach every project with creativity, care, and attention to detail.
Our artists each bring their own style and perspective, offering a range of work from classic traditional tattoos and delicate fine line designs to lifelike realism and deeply symbolic storytelling. We connect every client with the artist who can best bring their vision to life, ensuring not just a tattoo, but an experience they’ll remember.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part, it’s been smooth sailing. Every journey has its trials and tribulations, but we’ve been fortunate to grow in the right direction. Our team, business, and shop culture have all been built steadily over time, shaped by the incredible artists who’ve joined us and the amazing clients we’ve had the privilege to work with. Each step of the way has been about learning, adapting, and creating something we’re truly proud of.
