Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Adduci.
Hi Nick, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a musician based in Youngstown, Ohio. I have been playing out at bars/venues for the past 8 years. I released my first original album in 2021, which was entitled United Music. I recorded that album at Boss Studios in Hubbard. Since then, I have released two more albums, United Music II (2022) and Conversations (2024), both of which were recorded at Peppermint Productions in Youngstown. In between albums, I have also released United Music Outtakes EP (2023), Live at the Wickyards (2024) and Alone at Peppermint (2025). All of the records I have released so far have been self-produced and released independently. I am currently back at Peppermint now working on my fourth full-length album of new material, this time with Anthony LaMarca as a producer.
Outside of my musical aspirations, I am also an Art Teacher at a district in Pennsylvania, where I teach grades K to 12.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been very fortunate to have met a lot of great people along the way. These people have given me opportunities to play gigs, as well as important collaborations. The Youngstown music scene is full of talent, which in my opinion makes it easy to thrive when there is such community and inspiration. Desipite any challenges, I am committed to always be creating something — whether that’s writing a song, painting a picture, or simply sharpening my skills just by playing. Always keep busy and it’s a smooth road. Once you stop, that’s when you might get stuck.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In my songwriting, I tend to focus on creating unusual harmony. I am most proud of my songs that I believe are really unique. I also try to do as much as I can on my own, including playing several instruments on my records and designing my own album covers and artwork. I would describe my style as a sort of Beatlesque folk, with some of my main influences being Steely Dan, Leonard Cohen, the Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, and the like.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think it is important to bet on yourself, but it is also important to be realistic. I hope to find success with my music, but I understand there is an element of luck. You’ve got to put yourself out there, but be ready to back it up with a serious plan and hard work. I try to take a measured approach to risk.
