Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariama Bah
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello, my name is Mariama Bah! I am a 26 year old travel registered nurse from Indianapolis, Indiana. From a very young age, I have always known that I wanted to go into the medical field. I’ve always loved science, and I’ve also always loved the complexity/anatomy of the human body. After high school, I attended Indiana University to pursue an education in Nursing. It was a very rigorous but rewarding program. Throughout school, I always had a little thought in the back of my mind to travel. I absolutely love everything travel. I love the window of opportunities it brings, as well as the chance to learn about new cultures. My favorite places I’ve visited so far are Tokyo and South of France. After graduating college, I went into psychiatric nursing for a few years prior to switching to cardiac nursing. I now travel for work, and I honestly haven’t looked back since. I absolutely love what I do, and I hope to continue. I also hope to eventually pursue content creation full time in the future. I’ve always loved fashion, makeup, and travel. I try to incorporate those things into my social media. I love being in front of a camera. Though content creation can be tough, I try to challenge myself by watching and taking notes from various creators I look up to. My journey is only just getting started.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Trying to balance work and content creation is very challenging. Especially since I usually work 12-13 hr night shifts.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a travel registered nurse. I love caring for others when they need me most. I specialize in cardiac nursing at the moment. I’m proud to have taken a leap of faith to jump into the world of travel nursing.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I have learned several important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis. One main lesson I’ve learned is that truly working as part of a team makes a world of a difference. The Covid-19 crisis was a very dark and lonely time for many people. Having a support team and people you can lean on is so crucial.
