Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Blackledge.
Leslie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my business just a few months ago. After working in higher education, workforce training, and the insurance industry for a number of years, some life transitions prompted me to need a more flexible schedule. Because our family has relocated multiple times over the last twenty years, I decided to use my past experience in relocation and moving to start my own professional organizing business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think I have been in business long enough to know what a smooth road looks like, but I would say the biggest struggle I face is really promoting myself and my business. There are so many different ways to use this business and different types of markets. I’m trying to solidify what direction I want to take and where I can best help people in my immediate community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in decluttering, downsizing, and unpacking services. My company’s mission is to help customers live their BEST lives by: reducing stress and distractions created by clutter and chaos, helping process emotions and habits that might be driving unhealthy behaviors, and creating an environment that fosters personal growth, creativity, and optimum efficiency. I am most proud of the mental and emotional improvements in my customers’ lives. Simply going through the physical process of decluttering creates a mental shift and a sort of emotional high which motivates the customer to continue on a forward path of self-improvement. Downsizing, especially for senior adults, can relieve so much stress and anxiety while also providing a freedom to do more of what they enjoy doing. Unpacking in a new home can be overwhelming when so many decisions have to be made. The sooner people are unpacked and settled, the more they can relax and enjoy their new space. I think what sets me apart from other companies is that my business is just me. I work one-on-one with customers and devise a plan customized to meet their needs, providing them with the motivation and emotional support to get the job done.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I currently work alone and am working on building a network of resources/partners to provide any additional services needed.
