Founded by Jeremy “Chaz” Michael, a retired U.S. Army Special Operations veteran with 13 combat deployments and 15 years of service, our brand reflects the discipline, excellence, and camaraderie of military service. After dedicating years to serving our nation, Jeremy transitioned to civilian life with a new mission: empowering veterans through vehicle detailing, offering opportunities for healing, purpose, and entrepreneurship.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My Journey from Special Operations to Vehicle Detailing

Retiring from Special Operations presented my greatest challenge: finding a new purpose. I returned to my hometown of Oxford, Ohio, eager to experience “normal” life outside the military. But the 2019 pandemic brought fear and isolation, disrupting my plans.

Like many veterans, I initially gravitated back to the defense world. I founded a tactical instruction company and contracted with the U.S. Air Force, leading a team to develop advanced airborne vehicle concepts, tactics, and strategies for the Department of Defense. However, staying in the same environment I had retired from left no room to decompress, heal, or enjoy life. Worse, the tactical world began to strain my mental health and family.

I needed a fresh start.

One sleepless night, I stumbled across a YouTube channel by Chem-X that introduced me to vehicle detailing. The next day, I detailed my truck, and it felt incredible. Many skills from Special Operations Aviation translated seamlessly: meticulous attention to detail, mission planning, and adapting to evolving challenges. In aviation, cleanliness, thorough inspection, and maintenance are non-negotiable they ensure safety and mission success. Applying this mindset to vehicle detailing allowed me to deliver a standout service and product.

Now, I’m focused on growing Valor Detailing Co and our new non-profit, Valor Detailing Co Foundation, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting veterans and first responders facing similar challenges. Transitioning to civilian life and stepping away from the tactical world can feel daunting. Our foundation aims to provide support, encouragement, and community to ease this journey.

In today’s fast-paced world, where time is always in short supply, Valor Detailing Co delivers exceptional mobile vehicle detailing right to your location. We understand the value of your time, so we eliminate the hassle of dropping off and picking up your vehicle by bringing our services to your home or office. Our offerings range from routine detailing to ceramic coatings, which significantly improve a vehicle’s cleanability and durability. We specialize in high-end and rare vehicles. Additionally, leveraging our extensive aviation expertise, we provide mobile detailing services to aircraft companies and owners in our service area.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My wife and family are by far my largest supporters and cheerleaders and have been through our entire transition from military to civilian life! One of the reasons I wanted to start Valor Detailing Co was to have a business that my family could be involved in, including my two young sons, more than the defense work that required security clearances and travel to remote testing locations. Now Valor Detailing Co is a full family effort with everyone able to contribute in their own ways from foaming down a vehicle and vacuuming to managing social accounts and engagements. My mobile detailing career allows me to focus on what I value most.
