Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Anderson.
Hi Jasmine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Hey, I am Jasmine the owner of Jas The Manicurist . I’ve been licensed Nail Technician for two years. I found interest in becoming a nail tech during the pandemic lol. I started off part-time while still working my 6-year corporate job. I became pregnant with my now 2-year-old daughter. So, I gave it up completely until I gave birth to her. I knew it was grind time, I knew needed a flexible schedule where I could choose when I had to be in to work and when I can close off my schedule without needing management approval… Six months into my nail tech career I decided to jump out on faith to become full-time nail tech and quit my corporate job. Scary yes! But I knew this is what I loved and wanted to do. So here I am, 2 years into my career specializing in natural nails. Im so Happy that I get to meet so many new people who not only are clientele but who are now my friends!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say a smooth road. A lot of bumps along my way. I think the toughest for me is marketing my business to gain consistent clientele. Social media is a whole job itself, so staying consistent with posting , passing out business cards can be overwhelming. But I always remind myself you have to stay relevant , you have to put yourself on the front line to be noticed. So that’s why I do ! I challenge myself to post everyday on my Instagram and Facebook. On my free days I go out and place business flyers on people cars.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Dry Manicures, also known as Russian-style Manicures. A Dry manicure is a modern technique using an e-file and professional grade Diamond drill bits to exfoliate and groom dead skin cells off the nail plate for longer-lasting manicures. So dry manicures are done at the beginning of all hand services rather your getting regular Polish , Gel Polish , a Dip Manicure or Gel Extensions. I also service pedicures and Gel Extensions.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Absolutely! Never give up, Ok? It may seem hard, times will be slow, marketing may seem draining. You may think your work is going unnoticed, than boom your booked and busy. Always remember there’s someone out there for you. Just be genuine to yourself and your clients. I feel like word a mouth is the best marketing you can get. It’s nothing like someone giving an honest review on your business to another person. Stay professional, and always provide A1 customer service.
