Life & Work with Diksha Arora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diksha Arora.

Hi Diksha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was already laying the foundation for graphic design in my early years of college and adulthood by sketching and spending hours with a simple Paintbrush and Powerpoint. However, I always considered it my hobby until I got my job as a Computer Instructor teaching how to build websites and do simple graphics. Though I was away from a formal job for years for reasons beyond my control, I always stayed connected with this field. Whenever I picked it up, I felt a stronger connection than before. I found myself immersed in creating graphics, playing with various color palettes, learning from great artists and designers, and finding inspiration around myself. I worked on volunteer projects, making festivals, cards, flyers, Banners, and Brochures for my friends and family. In addition, my preschool and childcare center job helped me cover the Design Software cost.

Finally, this COVID-19 gave me the opportunity to grow, learn, and make an online presence with my website, and DesignDELIGHTS was born. I chose this name because that’s how I feel delightful when I design, and I want to carry forward the same feeling to the clients I work with. I want to give them a delightful experience not only by using captivating colors, graphics, illustrations, and images but with its usability as well.

Designing is a creative process. Regular Communication, Freedom, and Trust play a vital role in bringing out the best in the designer, and that’s what I experience when I work with my clients. My hard work, dedication, desire to learn, time management, openness to feedback, and family support today help me create awesome stuff at my company and on freelance projects.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Graphic design has and continues to expand substantially to print design, digital media design, packaging design, website design, and more.

As a result, staying on top of the prevalent trends sometimes becomes challenging. Another pain is how the cost of good design sources, plugins, and third-party tools keeps adding quickly, which doesn’t justify the returns.

Sometimes, I hit a creative block because of an incomplete brief, lack of inspiration, or fatigue, and I need help finding my way out. Recreational Activity or my love for nature is the answer, but I must balance it with any project deadline.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I collaborate closely with my clients as a Team to turn their ideas into visual design concepts that are pleasing and have usability for a delightful experience. I provide design services for Logos, Social media graphics, Digital Marketing ads, Websites, Email Graphics, Artwork, T-shirts, Signs, Stickers, Business cards, Brochures, Branding, and Communication materials. In addition, I also offer Image retouching, Image manipulation, and Vector redraws.

There were many challenges and obstacles over which I had no control. However, I am proud that I continued moving forward with positivity and kept myself engaged in activities that made me happy. I learned from my mistakes, which helped my personal growth and gave me a new perspective. Hence, the delight and happiness I bring to people with my designs become my motivation. I feel good about what I am and what I do.

On the work side, I am proud of my every creation. My Art is my asset and dear to me, like my children, made with love and thought process of countless hours. What sets me apart is my budget-friendly service without sacrificing quality. I follow a process from the initiation of a project to its finish. Regular feedback from the client at various stages is my top priority.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I remember carving out a time and going the extra mile to add a personal touch to gifts to make my friends and family light up with pure joy and excitement on their special days like Birthdays. For me, wrapping presents is as important as the gifts themselves. So I wrote poems on self-created cards describing how special they were. Then, to accentuate the gift presentation, I added ribbons, beads, saved rakhi threads, and cutouts from old cards or whatever I could find to make it beautiful. It makes me happy and is a way to express my love, care, gratitude, and appreciation toward them.

It is my childhood memory, but I re-live it whenever I celebrate those special days with my loved ones.
