Hi Craig & Suzanne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Day Dream Farm Winery is a family-owned winery and meadery located in the countryside of Rock Creek, Ohio. Founded by Craig and Suzi Day, it began as a passion project rooted in a love of handcrafted wine, mead, and warm hospitality.
Known for both traditional grape wines and distinctive meads, Day Dream Farm Winery offers everything from classic varietals to multiple styles of mead (honey wine). More than a winery, it’s a relaxed, community-focused destination where guests can enjoy live music, food trucks, and a welcoming farm atmosphere in northeast Ohio’s wine country.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many growing wineries, Day Dream Farm Winery has faced a few challenges along the way—many of them shaped by perception and the realities of growth.
One of our biggest hurdles has been the misconception that we are “out of the way.” While some visitors assume we’re far from the heart of wine country, the reality is we are located just five miles from the main winery region. This perception has occasionally created hesitation for first-time visitors, despite our close proximity and easy access.
As demand for our wines continues to grow, keeping up with inventory has also been a challenge. Our current production capacity has been stretched as our customer base expands. To address this, we are actively building a new production facility, which will allow us to better manage inventory, increase efficiency, and support future growth.
Parking has been another growing pain. As attendance at the winery has increased, our original parking area has not always been sufficient. To improve the visitor experience, we have added an overflow parking lot near the new production building, providing additional space and making visits more convenient and accessible.
Each of these challenges represents not just an obstacle, but an opportunity—one that we are meeting with thoughtful planning, investment, and a commitment to making Day Dream Farm Winery an even better destination.
