Life & Work with Chris Mcneill of Euclid

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Mcneill

Hi Chris, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got started at finest lines tattoo back in the mid 90s. Around 1999 I started traveling to Texas where I learned a great deal more on tattooing. That eventually got my guest spots at studios all over the country. I’ve lived in 7 other states and worked in many others. But a good portion of it has been in Texas and Cleveland.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Too many struggles to list but I pushed thru them all. Tattooing is all I know how to do and I push myself to the limits doing it. Quitting was never an option. If it’s one thing I’ve learned growing up in Cleveland it’s how to overcome obstacles thrown in your way. The city will make you hardcore.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in American traditional tattooing but able to accomplish many styles. But I’m fluent in many mediums of art. Watercolor to sign painting I do it all. You can make a good living at art if you know what you’re doing and motivated. But that’s what sets us old school tattooers from the newbies in the industry. We hustle and work circles around those newer kids.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Ive taken many. In moving around the country to opening my own shops to crazy extreme sports. If you’re not taking risks in life, you aren’t living. Thats what builds character. Risk and failure. Can’t have success with out those two things.
