Life & Work with Arielle Patno of Chagrin Falls

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Patno

Hi Arielle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ordained at the start of Covid in 2020. My friends courthouse date was canceled and she asked if I would be able to quickly be ordained to legally marry them. We were all masked and they never got out of their car! Then I started wondering how many other couples had their weddings canceled and wanted to be married during the pandemic. I built a website, started my social media and since then have married over 100 couples in Ohio!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Generally very smooth and the biggest issues have been from my couple’s family having problems with the way they envision the ceremony. The people finding me have already decided they don’t want to be married in a religious establishment (although some still include religious elements) but that doesn’t mean their parents agree.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an officiant, I love meeting these couples and learning how they met and what they envision for their ceremony. Script writing is the most amazing creative outlet and everyone’s ceremony script is drastically different. Met online? As kids? Blind date? I want to hear every detail and put their love story to paper!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The Cleveland wedding vendors are unmatched! They are the nicest, hardest working people and as much as I fall in love with my couples, these weddings wouldn’t be as beautiful/fun/seamless without all the Cleveland wedding professionals.
