Today we’d like to introduce you to Alianna Pendergrass
Hi Alianna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started playing saxophone in 4th grade. From there, I played for 9 years. I also know a bit of guitar and piano. Ukulele and singing are my main instruments. I have always had a passion for music. Since I was little, I picked up on harmonies of songs from my grandmother who sang in the church choir, and who is also a licensed music teacher herself. I recorded my first cover in Music Tech at Lebanon Highschool. It was ‘Toxic’ by Brittany Spears.
I met my previous and he introduced me to his home studio. I watched him record, mix, and master for a year until I started to take things seriously. Since then, I have worked with artists in the Lo-fi scene on different songs and projects. From being just a sample to making my own songs, I still enjoy the process. Ideas flow out of me to create these pieces of art and I couldn’t want more than to help people.
Now, I have my own home studio. I make demos every day, and work tirelessly to make the best songs I can to help people feel.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely a hard transition from being married to a musician to being alone with no music equipment. I have been blessed with a loving, supporting family. My father bought me a scarlet focusrite set for Christmas 2024.
Probably the best present I ever recieved.
They say, 1 out of every 10 songs is a good song. This being said, I don’t let this discourage me. It is challenging to write songs and know that you aren’t going to release them, but if you can learn something from it, or even take a lyric for another song, the work was worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I release music on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube, and other streaming services. I mix and record music in my bedroom, and have made lots of friends doing what I do. I have no one else to thank but God.
I’m most proud of my ability to not give up. I recently had a hospital visit in January to get my mental health back on track, and my resilience through all of it was very admirable.
The person I am today is very accepting, and warm to be around. My energy brightens up a room, and my smile is contagious.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Always trust your instincts.
