Today we’d like to introduce you to Siarhei Alex Pranovich.
Hi Siarhei Alex, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into the world of home renovation wasn’t something I had meticulously planned; rather, it was born out of necessity and a leap of faith during one of the most challenging periods of my life.
For a long time, I worked for a remodeling company, starting as a painter and eventually working my way up to a Superintendent. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I found myself needing to leave that position. It was completely unplanned and happened at what felt like the absolute worst possible moment.
Facing an uncertain future, I had a choice to make. With the unwavering support of my wife, we decided to take a chance on ourselves. I am incredibly grateful to her. In those moments of doubt, she truly believed in me more than I believed in myself. It was her faith that gave me the courage to move forward. Together, we took a risk and used our last remaining credit to purchase the essential tools I needed to strike out on my own. That was the humble, and admittedly stressful, beginning of my business—a journey we started as a team.
The early days were incredibly tough. I was operating on the edge—working side jobs through the night just to keep us afloat, while spending my days handling the paperwork, marketing, and legal steps to build a legitimate brand.
Today, my business focuses on interior and exterior home finishing. While my specialty lies in professional wall painting and the meticulous refinishing of kitchen cabinets, I also have a passion for other finishing touches like flooring and tile work. I’ve always believed that while construction builds a structure, it’s the finishing work that truly turns a house into a home. It’s those final details—the perfect shade of paint or a beautifully laid floor—that allow a person to finally see themselves in their space. I’m proud of how far we’ve come from those sleepless nights, and I’m honored to help families across Ohio put the finishing touches on their own dreams
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road. Beyond the initial financial risk, the biggest struggle was building a brand from scratch while being the person doing everything—from the actual labor on-site to the late-night estimating and bookkeeping. In the beginning, establishing trust with homeowners as a new independent business was a challenge; I had to prove that my quality exceeded that of larger, established companies.
There were many weeks of exhaustion, but those challenges laid the foundation for our success. Today, every five-star review and the look of joy on a client’s face when they see a project that exceeds their expectations speak for themselves. I am also incredibly proud that according to BusinessRate, we have been ranked as the #1 business in our industry in Grove City and among the Top 5 businesses in the Columbus Metro area for two years in a row. It’s a humble testament to the fact that when you put quality and integrity first, the community notices.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Promus Home Improvement CO.?
What sets us apart?
It’s the combination of ‘boots-on-the-ground’ craftsmanship and high-level management experience. Having served as a Superintendent in the past, I don’t just see a wall; I understand the entire anatomy of a renovation. I bring a level of project management, cleanliness, and structural knowledge that goes far beyond just ‘applying paint.’ We don’t just finish a job; we manage the space with respect and professional discipline.
Brand Pride & Philosophy
Brand-wise, I am most proud of our reputation for integrity. My business was built on a foundation of resilience during a personal ‘make-or-break’ moment, and that same grit is applied to every project. When clients hire us, they aren’t just getting a contractor; they are getting someone who treats their home with the same care as if it were my own family’s.
What I want readers to know:
I want your readers to know that we are here to bridge the gap between ‘construction’ and ‘comfort.’ Whether it’s a modern refresh for your cabinets or a complete floor-to-ceiling interior update, our goal is to provide a stress-free experience and a result that feels truly personal. We are a local, family-supported business that believes the finishing touches is what defines the quality of the entire home.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My perspective on risk changed the moment my back was against the wall. Before starting my own business, I viewed risk as something to be avoided—a danger to stability. But when I found myself without a job at the most inconvenient time, I realized that the greatest risk of all was not betting on myself.
The biggest risk I’ve ever taken was, without a doubt, the launch of this business. We didn’t have a safety net or a large savings account. Instead, we had a choice: to play it safe and look for another job, or to take our very last credit and invest it into professional-grade tools. It was a ‘burn the boats’ moment. There was no Plan B.
How I think about risk today:
I don’t see myself as a reckless gambler. I see risk-taking as an essential part of growth, but it must be backed by competence and preparation.
When I took that leap, I wasn’t just hoping for luck; I was betting on the years of experience I had as a painter and a superintendent. I knew I could do the work better than anyone else. To me, a calculated risk is simply having the courage to let your skills speak for themselves when the stakes are high.
In my industry, I see homeowners take risks too—the risk of hiring the wrong person or choosing a bold new look for their home. My job is to mitigate that risk for them. I want my clients to feel that same confidence I felt when I started: that even though a project is a big investment, the result is guaranteed because it’s in the hands of someone who has everything on the line.
Ultimately, risk taught me that fear and opportunity are usually the same thing. If I hadn’t taken that initial risk with my last few dollars, I would never have discovered the fulfillment of building something that is truly mine.
