Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelle Morovich.
Hi Noelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I founded Paws in the Land in the summer of 2019. I had previously been helping run another pet sitting business for a few years and had done pet sitting on the side prior to that for many years. I have my degree in small business management from Tri-C & knew from the time I was a small child I wanted to be a business owner.
People have always said I have a magic like ability to understand and connect with animals and I’ve been a cat & dog lover since I was a small child & always wanted to have a career working with animals.
So in July of 2019 after consulting with a business attorney to make sure I legally could start my own pet care business & to ensure I got started on the right foot, I founded Paws in the Land LLC.
Paws in the Land was founded on these principles: to provide quality & reliable pet sitting, dog walking/training & pet photography services in the comfort of the pets own home. Build client relationships with mutual honesty & mutual respect. Pet care that focuses on pet safety, comfort & happiness. Maintain my person values & integrity and be able to be open about my support for equality, women’s rights, minority rights & LGBTQ+ rights.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. The Covid pandemic hit roughly 6 months after I started the business which caused many more established businesses across many different industries to fail. I was able to use my ability to think on my feet that I’ve developed over living a life of being thrown many curve balls. I realized about 1/3rd of my client base was in the medical world in 2020 and would be working more hours & also that they had coworkers whose pets would need pet care because people who previously used doggie daycares couldn’t during the first part of the pandemic because of shutdown mandates. So I had my existing clients refer their coworkers to us and that’s a big part of how Paws in the Land survived the pandemic and continued to grow.
Choosing to continue to openly stand for equality during a time when the current leaders of this country are openly attacking equality is the right choice and the only choice but it does come with the risk of losing clients. We did lose some clients over us continuing to be open about our support of women’s rights, equality, LGBTQ+ rights, minorities rights, but we rather lose a few clients then bend the knee and be on the wrong side of history just to appease people. Any clients we have lost for standing for what’s right resulted in only a temporary decrease in revenue and we have since replaced those clients and continued to grow the business with new clients who have praised us for our stance on equality. As a business owner I will always run this business with integrity, honest, providing the best pet care in Cleveland & also stand for equality.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
At the suggestion of several of my clients I started a side project this year to publicly discuss what life as a business owner and woman who is late diagnosed ADHD, level 1 autism & CPTSD is like. I have always been open with my clients but this year I took it to a new level and started making videos discussing the realities, struggles & joys of being neurodivergent and how that impacts my personal and professional life.
This side project has given clients and others a better look at what it is like to be me. It’s also helped people realize you can be a successful business owner and be neurodivergent.
