Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Kaelah Payne. I’m a 31-year-old mom of two and the wife of my incredibly supportive husband of six years. Nursing has always felt like a calling for me. I graduated from Wright State University and began my career in emergency medicine, where I spent five fast-paced, formative years working in a local emergency department. That experience shaped the way I care for people—calm under pressure, attentive, and always patient-first.

A few years later, I felt drawn into aesthetic medicine, where I’ve now been practicing for the past four years. I loved the blend of science, artistry, and relationship-driven care. In May of 2025, I took a leap of faith and opened my own aesthetic and wellness clinic, BEAM, right here in my hometown of Waynesville, Ohio.

Alongside BEAM, I also run a local headache clinic, where I evaluate and treat a wide range of headache conditions. Whether I’m helping someone feel more confident in their skin or finally find relief from chronic pain, my goal is always the same—to provide thoughtful, ethical, and genuinely compassionate care.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve always been a caretaker, and I knew early on that nursing was where I was meant to be—what I didn’t know was in what capacity. While I loved emergency medicine and the invaluable lessons it taught me, I also knew it wasn’t the end of the road for me. I felt a constant pull to grow, to learn more, and to see where else I could make an impact.

There was a season of my life where I was working full-time as a night shift nurse, planning my wedding, building a house, and attending graduate school—all at once. Looking back, it was a lot. I remember people asking me if I was crazy… and maybe I was, just a little. But I’ve always thrived on staying busy and challenging myself. I believe the world is constantly changing, and if we want to serve people well, we have to keep learning right alongside it.

At the end of the day, my faith and my family are my foundation. They keep me grounded, motivated, and moving forward—even when the path feels demanding.

My business is BEAM by KP Aesthetics + Wellness. I specialize in medical aesthetics, including neurotoxins, facial fillers, and GLP-1 therapy. But more than anything, what I’m most proud of is the way I care for my patients. Education is at the center of everything I do. I believe in building genuine relationships and earning trust, not rushing appointments or selling services.

I’m not here just to offer products or treatments—I’m here to educate, to protect my patients, and to prescribe thoughtfully and appropriately. My goal is never to change someone, but to help them feel like the best, most confident version of themselves. Medicine works best when people feel informed, respected, and truly heard, and that’s always the standard I hold myself to

I’m very intentional about practicing in a way that’s ethical, educational, and truly individualized, because trust will always matter more than trends. This work isn’t about chasing perfection or trying to look younger—it’s about supporting people as they age in a healthy, empowered way.

My hope is that conversations like these help normalize a more thoughtful and responsible approach to wellness and aesthetics, and encourage people to seek care that genuinely aligns with their values.
