Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Sigman.
Hi Jennifer , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path to entrepreneurship wasn’t a straight line—it was shaped by life experience, leadership, and a deep desire to serve others well. I spent over three decades in hospitality and operations management, where I learned the value of relationships, trust, and showing up for people during both ordinary moments and life’s most challenging ones. That career taught me how to lead with empathy, solve problems under pressure, and always put people first.
Eventually, I felt called to use those skills in a more personal way. After navigating my own experiences with loss, resilience, and planning for the future, I realized how many families lacked guidance and clarity when it came to protecting what matters most. That realization led me to found Sigman Family Agency.
Today, my work centers on helping families, individuals, and business owners understand their options and make informed decisions around financial protection and long-term planning. I focus heavily on education—because confidence comes from understanding, not pressure. What brings me the greatest fulfillment is knowing that my clients feel supported, prepared, and empowered.
Looking back, every chapter—from leadership roles to personal challenges—played a role in bringing me here. I didn’t just build a business; I built something rooted in service, trust, and purpose, and I’m grateful to continue growing alongside the community that supports it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most meaningful journeys, it came with uncertainty, growth, and a great deal of learning along the way.
Transitioning from a long-established career into entrepreneurship was one of my biggest challenges. Stepping away from stability to build something of my own required faith, confidence, and the willingness to start over in many ways. There were moments of self-doubt, especially early on, as I worked to build credibility, relationships, and systems all at the same time.
Throughout that process, the strength and encouragement of my husband and family made all the difference. Their belief in me—especially during moments when the path felt uncertain—gave me the confidence to keep moving forward. Having a strong support system allowed me to take risks, trust my instincts, and stay committed to the vision I was building. Along the way, I was also fortunate to be guided by strong mentors who helped me grow, challenged me to keep learning, and offered steady support when I needed it most.
Another challenge was navigating an industry that can feel overwhelming to consumers. Earning trust in a space where people often feel confused or guarded meant slowing down, leading with education, and staying grounded in integrity—even when an easier or faster path was available.
Like many business owners, I’ve also faced the realities of wearing every hat, learning new technologies, adapting to regulatory changes, and balancing growth with family and personal priorities. Those challenges pushed me to become more disciplined, more patient, and more intentional.
Each obstacle refined not just my business, but my leadership. The road wasn’t smooth—but it was purposeful. Every challenge strengthened my resolve and reinforced why I do this work: to serve others with clarity, compassion, and care.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sigman Family Agency was built on the belief that financial protection should feel empowering, not overwhelming. We work for our clients—advocating on their behalf to ensure they are educated, informed, and confident in the decisions they are making. Our role is to help individuals, families, and business owners understand the benefits, value, and long-term impact of their choices so they can find the best possible fit for their unique needs.
We specialize in life insurance and long-term planning solutions, but what we are truly known for is education and relationship-based service. We take the time to explain options clearly, answer questions honestly, and ensure our clients fully understand what they are seeking—without pressure or confusion. Every recommendation is guided by what serves the client best, not by a one-size-fits-all approach.
What sets us apart is our commitment to clarity, transparency, and advocacy. Many clients come to us feeling unsure or overwhelmed, and they leave feeling empowered and supported because they know their interests come first. Trust is earned through education and follow-through, and that is something we never take lightly.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the reputation we’ve built for integrity and care. Sigman Family Agency is known as a place where people are treated like family, not policies. We believe in preparation over pressure and relationships over transactions.
I want readers to know that our brand is rooted in service, education, and community. Whether someone is just beginning to explore their options or reviewing plans they’ve had for years, our goal is to be a trusted partner—someone they can rely on through every season of life.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by starting with a simple conversation. Whether someone is seeking guidance for themselves, their family, or their business, collaboration begins with education and understanding. My goal is always to meet people where they are, listen to their concerns, and help them explore options that truly fit their needs.
I also enjoy collaborating with local businesses, organizations, and community groups who share a passion for education, service, and empowerment. This can include workshops, educational events, speaking engagements, or partnerships that help bring financial literacy and planning conversations into accessible, welcoming spaces.
Support often comes in the form of connection and community. Referrals, introductions, and shared conversations are meaningful ways people support my work, especially when those connections are rooted in trust and shared values. I believe strongly in growing through relationships, not transactions.
Most importantly, I want people to know that working with me is never about pressure—it’s about partnership. Whether someone becomes a client, a collaborator, or simply a supporter of the mission, every relationship begins with respect, education, and care.
