Inspiring Conversations with Jamie Rapavy of Jamie M Rapavy, Wedding Mentor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Rapavy.

Hi Jamie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I may be in my second official year of coaching wedding entrepreneurs, but the truth is, I have been coaching in this industry for over 25 years.

I just did not always call it coaching.

As a wedding planner, I trained hundreds of interns, mentored newer planners, sat down for countless “pick your brain” coffee chats, helped venues grow their revenue, consulted on new venue concepts, and built a networking community for wedding professionals that still exists 18 years later.

This work has always been part of who I am.

What changed is that I finally realized my own messy, trial-and-error journey could become someone else’s shortcut.

I have built multiple six-figure businesses in the wedding industry, but I also know what it feels like to take the long way, make the mistakes, feel overwhelmed, and wonder what to fix first.

That is why I coach now.

Because if I can help another wedding professional grow with more clarity, confidence, and support, without having to struggle through every lesson alone, that is the work that truly lights me up.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road, but I also think that is what makes me a stronger coach.

A lot of my struggles did not start with coaching. They started through years of being a wedding entrepreneur, building multiple businesses, wearing too many hats, learning by trial and error, and often taking the long way around because I did not always have the right guidance in front of me.

Now, as I build my coaching business, I am experiencing some of the same things I help my clients work through. Getting clear on my ideal client, refining my pricing, learning how to show up consistently on social media, and making sure my message truly connects with the people I am meant to serve.

The difference this time is that I am not trying to figure it all out alone. I have invested in coaches myself because I deeply believe in the power of guidance, accountability, and support. I know how much faster you can grow when someone helps you see what you cannot see on your own.

So while it has not been smooth, it has been incredibly valuable. Every challenge I have faced as a wedding business owner and now as a coach gives me more insight, more empathy, and more real-life lessons to bring to the wedding professionals I serve.

As you know, we’re big fans of Jamie M Rapavy, Wedding Mentor. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My coaching business is built for wedding professionals who are talented at what they do, but feel overwhelmed by the business side of growing, marketing, pricing, selling, and creating systems that actually support them.

After more than 25 years in the wedding industry, I understand the unique pressure wedding entrepreneurs face. We are not just selling a product or service. We are showing up for one of the most emotional, high-expectation days in someone’s life. That takes creativity, organization, confidence, strong communication, and a business that does not completely drain you behind the scenes.

I specialize in helping wedding pros find clarity in their business, fix the gaps that are costing them time and money, and grow in a way that feels more sustainable. That can include their pricing, messaging, client experience, inquiry process, workflows, marketing, visibility, follow-up, boundaries, and overall CEO mindset.

What sets my coaching apart is that I am not teaching from theory. I have built multiple six-figure businesses in the wedding industry. I have been a planner, a connector, a networking group leader, a wedding resource owner, an event producer, and a mobile bar owner. I have worked with planners, venues, photographers, caterers, DJs, florists, rental companies, and so many other wedding professionals over the years.

I know this industry because I have been in it, built in it, struggled in it, and grown through it.

What I am most proud of brand-wise is that my work has always been rooted in connection, education, and community. Whether it is through coaching, networking, vendor exposure, or wedding resources, my goal has always been to help people feel less alone and more equipped to grow.

I want wedding professionals to know that they do not have to keep guessing their way through business. They do not have to do everything alone. They can build something profitable, organized, sustainable, and aligned with the life they actually want.

That is what my brand is about. Helping wedding entrepreneurs grow with more clarity, confidence, and support, without losing themselves in the process.

What are your plans for the future?
My future plans are focused on creating more ways to support wedding professionals at different stages of business.

One of my biggest goals is to build a self-paced course that vendors can go through on their own time. Not everyone is ready for private coaching, but so many wedding pros still need guidance around pricing, marketing, messaging, systems, client experience, and how to build a business that feels more sustainable.

I am also looking forward to creating a few high-level masterminds for wedding professionals who are ready for deeper strategy, accountability, and community. I believe this industry needs more real conversations, stronger collaboration, and spaces where business owners can be honest about what is working, what is not, and where they want to grow.

Long-term, I want to keep building education, coaching, and community for wedding pros who are tired of guessing their way through business and are ready to grow with more clarity, confidence, and support.
