Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Dee Hester.
Hi Dr. Hester, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in the church, but for many years I didn’t fully understand who I was in Christ. I knew the language of faith, but I hadn’t yet embraced my identity or the power that comes with being positioned as a child of God.
As I matured spiritually, I began discovering my spiritual gifts — encouragement, teaching, and administration. I served in ministry, worked with youth in the church, and professionally became a teacher. Over time, I transitioned into life coaching, career coaching, and eventually instructional coaching. In every space, one thing remained consistent: I was called to build, guide, and strengthen people.
But my deepest transformation didn’t happen publicly. It happened in my soul.
Through intentional journaling and studying the Word, I learned how to confront what was happening beneath the surface — fear, insecurity, toxic thought patterns, and misplaced identity. I learned how to “dominate within my soul” by renewing my mind and aligning my thoughts with truth. That inner work became the foundation of everything I now teach.
As I processed what God was revealing to me, I began writing — first through a newsletter, then supporting a church magazine, and eventually authoring my first book, There’s More in You. That book was born from lived experience. It carries the message that transformed me: what God started in you, He intends to finish.
As I continued growing, I became a life coach and biblical counselor and developed a healing framework called Soul Therapy. That framework grew into the Soul Therapy Podcast — a space dedicated to helping people slow down, examine their inner world, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead real transformation.
My personal vision is simple but powerful:
To encourage with the love of Christ, empower through the Holy Spirit, and inspire others to see that there is more in us.
My ministry emphasizes positioning yourself as a child of God — standing in power and walking in purpose. I create spaces for healing through writing, speaking, and coaching. I help people get to the root of the toxicity lurking in the soul and shift toward thoughts of power by renewing their minds.
I did the work. And I encourage others to commit to doing the work within their soul.
Because I sincerely believe that what God started in me, He will finish. And that belief is why I will always know — there’s more in me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road.
I come from a low-income background where abuse, drugs, and alcohol were part of my world. There were moments growing up when it felt like there was nowhere to go and no one to rely on — except my faith. Early on, I learned that faith was not just something we talked about in church. It became my strength. It became my hope. It became my refuge.
As an adult, one of the most difficult seasons was going through a divorce. I was yearning for love and security, yet I found myself rebuilding my life as a single mother. I wrestled with feelings of not being good enough and fears that I would never finish what I started. There were moments when I felt alone and unsupported.
That season was not easy. It was not polished. It was one of purpose.
God used it to teach me that faith must mature into trust. I had to learn to trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding — especially when the road ahead was unclear. I couldn’t see how everything would come together, but step by step, He made my path straight.
Looking back, I see how those struggles strengthened my resilience and deepened my dependence on God. They shaped my conviction that identity must be rooted in Christ, not in circumstances, relationships, or validation from others.
The road has included hardship, rebuilding, and growth. But through it all, my faith has remained my anchor. And that is why I can confidently tell others: there is more in you — no matter what you’re going through or what you’ve been through.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My ministry is built around one core message:
There’s more in you — by the power of the faith within you.
Everything I create flows from that truth.
Through my writing, coaching, biblical counseling, and the Soul Therapy Podcast, I focus on inner healing and identity alignment. I specialize in helping people confront what’s happening beneath the surface — the fear, insecurity, shame, toxic thought patterns, and spiritual stagnation that quietly limit their growth.
One of the foundational offerings within my ministry is the **40-Day Soul Detox**. This experience was designed to help people intentionally renew their minds, discipline their thoughts, and realign their identity with the Word of God. It is not simply a devotional — it is a guided spiritual reset. For forty days, participants commit to examining their soul, replacing toxic beliefs with truth, and positioning themselves as children of God who stand in power and walk in purpose.
The Soul Therapy framework supports that work. It combines biblical truth, structured reflection, journaling, accountability, and practical application. I am known for helping people move beyond surface inspiration into deep transformation. I do not focus on hype or emotional moments — I focus on process. I teach people how to do the work within their soul so that their faith becomes real, not just language.
What sets me apart is the balance of encouragement and practical application. My spiritual gifts of encouragement, teaching, and administration shape how I lead. I create safe spaces for healing, but I also provide clarity and accountability. I believe love tells the truth. Love challenges. Love builds.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that everything is rooted in authenticity. *There’s More in You* was born from my own rebuilding seasons. The 40-Day Soul Detox grew from my personal conviction to transform into the image of Christ. The Soul Therapy Podcast extends conversations I first had with God in private. Nothing I teach is theoretical — it has been lived, tested, and refined with fire.
I want readers to know that this ministry exists to help them reposition themselves. You are not powerful because of personality, talent, or title. You are powerful because of the Spirit of God within you.
And when you truly believe that, everything changes.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several meaningful ways to connect and work with me.
Individuals can work with me through faith-based coaching and biblical counseling, where we focus on identity alignment, renewing the mind, and intentional inner healing. I also lead structured experiences like the 40-Day Soul Detox, designed for those who are ready to commit to doing the work within their soul and reposition themselves as children of God who stand in power and walk in purpose.
Churches, ministries, and organizations can collaborate with me through speaking engagements, workshops, and healing-centered gatherings. I teach on identity in Christ, spiritual maturity, emotional discipline, mind renewal, and walking in purpose. My sessions are structured, practical, and transformational — moving people beyond inspiration into implementation.
Writers and emerging leaders can also connect with me through writing-focused healing spaces and message development support, helping them process their story and communicate it with clarity and conviction.
